My kids are all aspiring guitar players. They live with their mom six days a week. Sundays we have visits that inevitably turn into guitar lessons. I have shoulder length dark hair and wear Lennon glasses.
My son said, “Dad, it’s like having an Asian version of you teaching me how to play when you’re not there!”
They’re all subscribed to Guitar Wisdom. Thanks, Tomo.

You know what I like about this exercise the most, Tomo San? I like it because it warms my fingers up to practice on my piano. I practice on the keyboard right after this warmup and then I come back to do the guitar practice. 3 months on guitar now and I am starting to know where the notes are on the fretboard. The finger exercise has helped me move faster on the fretboard.

Mr.Fujita my name is Rob and I started playing about 15 years ago at the age of 40yrs. old. I love music, in general and I wanted to use it to help me quit smoking. In the hopes it would keep my hands busy and my mind occupied. Well, I'm happy to say it worked for me as I have been smoke free since then and I have learned to play guitar. (well somewhat) Like many others didn't have a teacher and I didn't know how much I was going to love to play - I turned to the internet and found Justin to teach me some chords. I now have a good sized collection of songs to play for fun which I share on my channel, my way of giving back. I feel my strumming skills are the strongest, I enjoy finger picking (not too bad, although arthritis is setting in my middle finger) but I fall apart when it comes to flat picking. I pick with my fingers (most of the time) like I'm playing a bass guitar. I will try this routine and see if I can a build a good foundation so I can start soloing. The end goal, being able to hybrid pick - because I don't know how much mobility I will have in the future. I follow a wonderful young player named Corey Heuvel (YouTube) who has really inspired me to keep playing. Everyone hits roadblocks in their journey, I need to get past this. Now that I have found you (and know a bit about you) I have a feeling with some patients and your help I will get past this. Thanks for posting your content. We all need inspiration in our lives, a good reason to get out of bed in the morning. lol

Great routine. I get up every morning at 04:00 and do what I call my Morning Mechanics. Slur studies, arpeggio studies, left hand coordination and stretching (carlevaro). Then go,to,electric for legato routine, cross string picking routine. About 90 minutes total. All very slowly with metronome for accuracy. Morning Mechanics is not about speed at that moment. Then when I get home from my job all have to practice is whatever classical or electric repertoire I’m working on.
