Did Hendrix Use CAGED? Cool Pentatonic Guitar Lesson

I TOTALLY forgot to show the G Major Shape Chord and Pentatonic Relationship: In Short, The G Major Chord SHAPE Gets the Form 1 Pentatonic Shape, just like the E minor Shape Chord. You can use this Form 1 For a G Shape in the instance when you mentally play the E Shape, BUT you want to play a more familiar pentatonic pattern, so you go backwards from the E Shape and mentally connect it to the G shape (shown in video) and use the Form #1 where the G Shape would be. Will address this in my next live video. So Subscribe with the bell icon so you get notified when I'm live with this content.

I hung up my guitar 30 years ago (don't ask) and lost it all. I became feaful to pick it up again and acknowledge what I had lost. This Christmas my son talked me into finally taking a few wobbly steps. I took my beautiful vintage Kramer down off the wall and to The Medicine Man for complete overhaul. Then I discovered these stitch Method video lessons. Man you're giving me back all the joy I had lost. The knowledge and muscle memory are returning fast. Thank you so much for resusitating me. You are a guitar saint and now I stick with all your videos. You are the 'go to' dude!

Man I love this mans videos for one he teaches good stuff and for two he seems like the nicest guy in the world. A lot of guitar lesson videos has a guy coming off as a show off but this guy is just bad ass on the guitar and a good teacher through a video and it’s so easy to just keep interested in what he is teaching you! Keep the videos coming bro your helping people like me out so much! Rock on bro

Ok, Stich! I have been playing for many many years, and have take private lessons, group lessons, in person and on-line. But, since I found you awhile back my playing has moved forward so much. I actually feel as though I am a guitar player, and that's because of your material! I appreciate all you do here. Thank you!

AWESOME. Thank you so much. I have loved Hendrix since before I saw him live (1972). First album I ever bought was Experience. Played guitar as a kid (still have my 1958 3/4 size Rickenbaker), but gave it up for decades. Now as an old man, picking it up again, learning all the things I never knew as a kid (such as caged and scale shapes). You feel like a kindred spirit. Thanks!!

Great lesson. I always find it interesting that even after all these years, guitar players are still studying Hendrix. It's amazing how his music is still not only relevant, but he is still one of the most influential guitar players. And for good reason, Hendrix is a true guitar god. More players should incorporate some of his style into their playing. But then, it's rare to even find a guitar player who doesn't list Hendrix as one of their biggest influences.

I think I'll have to watch that like 100 more times to commit it to memory, so much info but all so good. Awesome lesson!

Awesome lesson I've always played by ear this was definitely a lesson/direction I can adhere to and follow. You broke it down to be understandable in a less complicated way!! Thank you!!

This explains that iconic Hendrix style much better than all other videos I've seen on the subject on YouTube. I really appreciate all that you're doing. Thanks so much and keep it up!

This video validates everything I've been teaching myself. I was able to figure out the CAGED system by playing the all variations of the 1-3-5 chord shapes in all 5 pentatonic hand positions. I haven't been able to really do anything with it. But this video now has given me a lot of ideas

Thank you so much! This is the most clear and valuable explanation of the Hendrix style playing over chords I ever seen on Youtube.
