Matthew!! Thank you so so much for answering my question!! This was super super helpful! I've felt so lost and stagnant with my playing because I felt like I was not practicing the right things, or practicing properly. I go to in person lessons once a week, but even then I felt like I wasn't getting the right advice.
This was so so helpful! I literally jumped up after you answered and sat down at my piano to work some things out. You've broken it down into such a manageable way, I have no doubt my practice sessions will be much more productive now, especially in terms of scales. I was basically just going up and down hands together, sometimes working on different volumes in each hand, or staggering the notes so they're in between each other to keep it interesting. The idea of not just working on scales, but working on techniques that give me trouble at the same time is fantastic!
