4:00 "You can make out a tiny bit more detail along the surface of each character's face with the PS5 version"
Me trying my hardest to see the tiny bit more detail along the surface of Nathan's face with the PS5 version: I...see...
Seriously, I would not play "Spot the differences between these 2 pictures" against Nick lol

It's actually a very good port with minor issues that a patch or two can't fix. But I have concerns with the loading (start of levels, cutscenes) and the very short pre-recorded scenes in between in-engine scenes. For the loading, it is a very tricky problem as it's a totally different hardware and APIs than the Playstation environment, and for the short cutscenes, ND has to go back to their projects to re-render the scenes in higher frame rates and that's if they would bother to do so. So I won't be surprised if these issues won't be fixed anytime soon.

I'm about to start playing it for the first time. This is my very first uncharted game. I haven't had a Play station console since the PS1 so i'm super grateful Sony is deciding to put some of these amazing games on PC. Played the first chapter and my mind is blown that this game originally came out in 2016 - WOW.

Lot of good info here. My guess with some of the rendering issues come from Iron Galaxy specing for HDDs. I'm not sure if they worked on the PS5 version of the game, but since there's no HDD im any capacity, I would venture to guess that adjusting to that gave them a bit more trouble.
If I remember correctly, the PS5 version was out in April. I'm not sure if they were working on both at the same time or if they only worked on the PC version.
Removing Motion Blur makes this game SO much better in my opinion. That alone makes it a huge improvement.

Excellent coverage as usual Nick. This is one of the bare bone PC versions of a modern video game can get. Even the image reconstruction methods are broken (especially DLSS). Pre-complied shaders even fail to alleviate those micro stutters. That's what you should expect from Iron Galaxy Studios.

Never played this game before since i didnt ever have a console.. Playing this on PC im totally captivated. It runs so great and playing it with mouse and keyboard i didnt have a single issue. Also the charachters look fantastic and i hardly ever seen such great acting in a pc game. The framerate has been without any issues.

I've encountered a few bugs myself playing the PC version, like when you get to some of the entrances of new areas, it won't be fully loaded into the map, so you just see empty space and sometimes, I've fallen through the map, because the textures and scenery hasn't properly loaded in. I ran into the latter issue in The Lost Legacy in particular, while attempting the Best Driver in the Business achievement, because on top of the game stopping to load almost every few minutes or so, after I head back from the top of the waterfall, I zigzag through the stream between some rocks and as I try to drive up the rock ramp back towards the central tower, the jeep just falls through the map. I tried reloading the checkpoint and even started a new game, to attempt the achievement again a few times, with no success. So I'm not sure what the deal with that is.

It is interesting that the PC port seems to have some default values brought over from the PS4 version of the game like draw distances. I love these games and as someone who's played them multiple times, I was really hoping to have the absolute definitive edition come to my much more powerful PC. Here's to hoping some patches in the near future will elevate this version of the game.
On the flip side so far it has been a joy playing this game on my steam deck đ

Hey everyone - hope you're all having a good week so far! Just an update on current projects: -MW2 Coverage is in progress, including a review of the campaign, and a couple comparisons -God of War Ragnarok review and comparison are in progress (thanks to playstation for early access!), expect that coverage in early November -A few hardware videos planned -Still waiting on review keys for "Gotham Knights," will likely need to purchase it myself at this point, but will hold off until I finish other in-progress videos And finally, -Batman Documentary is about 60% complete. All of the new game releases and getting covid twice interrupted progress on this. I've edited Asylum, City, Origin, and currently working on Knight. I'm also including EVERY batman game before the Arkham games, along with the telltale games and Gotham Knights - so it'll take a bit longer to finalize. Next year will have more documentaries that I've been wanting to do :)
