Considering Anthony Fantano basically shat on Kacey Musgraves' previous two albums (unfairly so I might add), I was hoping that he would be less harsh and more reasonable in his review of Deeper Well. At least he gave her SOME positive feedback, he gave the album a 4/10. Let's be real, he just doesn't like her music! 😂

I love this album. Her voice is impeccable, the stripped back instrumentals (Heaven Is!) work amazingly well with the beauty-in-simplicity approach of her writing. Some of the lyrics are a little too on-the-nose and could've been a little more abstract, but overall the whole concept just works very well. Calling "The Architect" an anthem about "intelligent design" does not do the actual lyrics justice and is just an unfair statement.

There’s so many highlights on this record for me. I’ve found myself going back to the album daily sense it’s release. Kaceys voice is breathtaking and the album from start to finish was a great listen for me!
