Ancient philosophies of love filtered through modern conservative Prager dudes Michael Knowles and Spencer Klavan.

The video sometimes gets messed up at 14:04 for some reason (it's Youtube's fault, I swear) so you just have to click forward a bit or refresh and it'll work.

For more Prager-critical content, check out this video on their advice about voting:    • PragerU's Advice On Voting  . There's also this video about a Stephen Crowder pep talk, if you're really into these types of videos:    • A Very Steven Crowder Pep Talk  . If you've had enough of these types of vids and want to just relax, check out this one of the leaves changing:    • Leaves Change (pt. 1)   or obviously any of the other ones on the channel.

Very interesting. As a financial advisor, this is my first exposure to these concepts.

“It is one of the obvious social injustices that the standard of civilization should demand from everyone the same conduct of sexual life—conduct which can be followed without any difficulty by some people, thanks to their organization, but which imposes the heaviest psychical sacrifices on others”- Freud (1908)

Ah yes the ‘older way of understanding education’ meaning: “The shifting cultural consciousness about sexual misconduct makes it so much harder to wield my authority in a predatory way without having to worry about the possible repercussions that may occur due to the imbalance of power inherent to a teacher student dynamic.” Also, maybe it wouldn’t be creepy to have more in depth relationships with teachers if we weren’t sexualized since childhood. Being told your completely appropriate outfit is not only distracting to other students but to male teachers/staff really fucks with your feeling of safety in a learning environment.

lol ... Michael Knowles complaining about the thing "toxic masculinity" in precisely the way the people who coined the term "toxic masculinity" talked about it, when I'm pretty sure he would also complain about the term "toxic masculinity" with the usual conservative claim that it's some left-wing "identity politics" propaganda that amounts to "men bad". :P It's one of those "accidentally left-wing" moments where they unknowingly promote the same ideas promoted by the people they've built their careers demonizing. Great piece. Thanks, man! 💖

i think Knowles is actually a closet case and don't know it. either that or he's just a creep. also, these "book club" session always end up the same place, with Knowles leading his guest to moan about the "state of modern culture". like, can they not just genuinely enjoy a book without the ranting? or... do they think this is what "thinking critically" looks like?
