All footage of PC gameplay captured for this documentary was done using an AMD Radeon 6900xt Halo Infinite Limited Edition GPU, and an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X processor - providing a flawless presentation as I replayed each and every game in the Halo franchise. You can learn more using the link I've provided.

This is a full history of the Halo franchise. From Bungie's roots building Sci-fi themed shooters in their Chicago offices, to 343 Industries' newly released Season 2 for Halo Infinite.

Celebrate 20 years of one of the most iconic first person shooter series every created by learning how the series has evolved! Halo is a first person shooter series created by Jason Jones, Marcus Lehto, and a team of Bungie developers and published by Microsoft for their new Xbox console. The series got its start as a hybrid RTS game built from the mold of their fantasy RTS series, Myth - and evolved to completely dominate the video gaming scene with its rich storytelling, beautiful scenery, balanced gunplay mechanics, and its revolutionary multiplayer. Following the groundbreaking Halo: Combat Evolved, Bungie created several more entries to the series, including Halo 2, Halo 3, a standalone expansion called Halo 3 ODST, and a prequel entry called Halo Reach.

After Bungie's departure from the franchise, Microsoft created 343industries to carry on its legacy, resulting in Halo 4, Halo 5, and most recently Halo Infinite.

Join me as I detail each and every game, breaking down their development history, storyline, gameplay features, visuals, and their critical reception, all backed with each game's original soundtrack.

This video was a tough one. Halo is not a series I'm quite as familiar with as past documentaries I've put together. In fact, some of these games I had played for the first time when recording. But thanks to some great archival work done by Bungie and some exhaustive interviews conducted by the likes of "VICE", I was able to piece together a complete breakdown of this series' history from start to finish. There's also a few easter eggs sprinkled in for diehard fans to discover, including some special cameo appearances from Halo Content Creator: LateNightGaming! Now sit back, grab a drink, and enjoy the ENTIRE History of Halo!

(Corrections listed below) This video was a fun one to put together. So much of this series I got to experience for the first time (Halo wars 1 and 2 in particular were a lot of fun!) As stated, this video was primarily recorded on an AMD PC with the halo infinite LE 6900xt gpu. Thank you AMD for hooking me up! Theres also footage of the original xbox releases to give you a better idea of what these classics used to look like. I also want to thank EpicMusicTrailerUK for providing a fantastic opening piece to accompany the intro. And latenightgaming for providing many hidden easter eggs throughout the video ;) Enjoy!! Corrections: -Arbiter in Halo Wars is not the same one from Halo 2/3. What I meant to say is Halo Wars gives players insight into what the Arbiter was doing prior to the Halo saga, as in the Arbiter position - not the character commonly referred to as the Arbiter. -Halo Wars released in 2009 not 2003. -In Halo 2, Chief and Johnson are being awarded for events that occur in one of the novels, not the destruction of Installation 004 -I keep getting some comments claiming that the ring in the title sequence is reversed. It is not. Though it apparently is an optical illusion for some people which I find interesting. -343 Industries* not interactive. Said interactive once or twice by mistake

It can't be overstated the impact that Halo had. It was the biggest leap in gaming since someone hit a rock with a stick

Man that Halo Theme music is so damn nostalgic it almost brings me to tears every time it plays. Seriously some of the best times in my life was playing Halo 1, 2, 3, ODST and Reach. They gave memories I will never ever forget.

The first time I fought the Flood, I was scared shitless and freaked out as well. Great series even with its ups and downs. In your history video Nick930, you can almost feel what the guys at 343 are feeling with each decision they make. The Halo Wars series is, in my opinion, underrated and needs a third sequel to its great story, plus I love RTS games, Red Team and the Spirit of Fire crew. Campaign DLC for free.

Am I the only who absolutely loved each and every step the game made? Like this game grew and it made bold choices that have us STILL playing it. I love it

My friend bought his Xbox the night it was released. I was so excited. I remember going to school the next day, and all i could think of was playing Halo all weekend. That Friday night, like an hour after we got outa school. We played all night until the next morning. Throughout the weekend, we probably played a solid 30+ hours.

This is fantastic! I love the level of detail you went into! It’s so interesting to see how all the different game devs came up with ideas. I really liked the part where they slapped together random theme music right before that demo and that’s what became so well known. Amazing.

Nice job getting all that early info and footage of pre Halo game builds - nowhere else do I learn more about how the biggest videogame franchises came to be than on a free channel done by one guy. That’s really pretty crazy and big credit to you Nick

Unbelievably well done! I learned so much. Getting back into halo ever since playing a lot of combat evolved with elementary friends in my childhood. I can remember my mom pawned the xbox & life took a different route. I feel like I'm getting back into it at the right time!
