This reminds me of a highschool experience I once had
I had a friend who was a senior, I was a mere sophomore. Even after he graduated, he stayed friends with me. He gave me a safe space to get high with him (weed).
We'd hotbox his car as I coughed my little virgin lungs out, and we'd laugh, then get serious. He'd vent to me about his problems, he'd tell me everything on his mind.
Once, though, he played this song during one of our sessions.
I had heard it before, but listening to it on a warm summer night, looking out at the sky in a foggy car in complete silence. It was a.. different experience. I never felt more present, and I never have felt less lonely.
He and I have moved apart extremely since then, I'm 19 now, the same age he was back then.
That memory will never leave me, for as long as I live. And sometimes, when I think too much, I come back just to relive that night. So I don't feel so lonely.

My family is pre-desposed to dementia. So unfortunately it's something I'll probably have to deal with one day. Most people who suffer from memory loss remember their favorite music for the longest time of any type of memory.
