In this episode of Tuna On Toast, Stryker interviews Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low. Alex details his early years and how he first started playing music, revealing that a Green Day song was the first thing he learned to play on guitar. He then tells Stryker all about how he met Jack Barakat, Rian Dawson and Zack Merrick, the other members of All Time Low. The bandā€™s breakthrough song was ā€œDear Maria, Count Me Inā€ and Alex recalls how things started taking off for his group. All Time Low have released nine studio albums, including ā€˜Tell Me Iā€™m Aliveā€™ in 2023, and Alex tells Stryker about the bandā€™s evolution with each release. Being part of The Warped Tour was another major experience for All Time Low and Alex reveals how impactful the festival was to All Time Lowā€™s career. Alex has also become close friends with Mark Hoppus from Blink 182. He talks about their friendship, what itā€™s like working with Mark and the future of their collaborative project together, Simple Creatures. Subscribe to Tuna On Toast, leave us a comment or review, and thank you ā€“ as always ā€“ for supporting the show!

PLEASE get Alex on the pod again!!! This was my first introduction to this pod and I plan to listen to more but I NEEED more about ATLā€™s albums ā€œDonā€™t Panic!ā€, ā€œFuture Heartsā€, and ā€œWake Up, Sunshineā€!!! I donā€™t care how much you have texted about it I want to hear from Alex (and Jack, Zach, and Rian). ā€œDonā€™t Panicā€ was my initial introduction to them/first time I saw them on a tour and it was magical. I saw them during Future Hearts tour as well and just such magic. Wake Up, Sunshine is my favorite aside from Donā€™t Panic! And Future Hearts. Front to back. I have loved ATL for a decade now and have seen them 5 times. I love them so much, I didnā€™t realize this interview was over an hour, please get Alex on again!

I find Alex so charismatic, he draws you in. I love this band I am joyful when I hear it Iā€™m 69 and agree with the host, we had to hope weā€™d see a band on TV, the album to show us what they look like. YouTube flipped my socks for all the info on on favorites. Iā€™m going to see them! I canā€™t wait, my daughter is going with me, my intro to ATL Six Feet Under The Stars, though sheā€™s moved on to K POP.

This year marks 16 years of ATL being my favorite band (since my senior year of high school). It was so cool to hear Alexā€™s perspective on the early years of the band. I wouldā€™ve watched a whole hour or two more to hear him talk about the more recent years as well! What a great interview šŸ¤©

This kinda takes me back when I first heard All Time Low. I remember that I was desperately searching for new music and the pop-punk scene wasn't big in Germany, and then I saw the music video to Coffee Shop Soundtrack and I was just like: "What is THIS?!" and listened to it all day long to a point where my friends got annoyed by it.
