My therapist suggested me to start the morning by listing down 3 things I'm grateful for. Today, I'm grateful for:
1. My cat, Logan
2. Progress in life, because eventually things will work out in divine time
3. And this video that brought me peace and strength this morning.
Thank you, Adriene and have a beautiful day everyone!

Came to this practice with a heavy mind today. Even though I've claimed to be calm as this pandemic has taken over our lives, this morning I was filled with thoughts of how I should be approaching this quarantine, what I ought to be doing with myself, my kids, my time... and how I've fallen well short of my ideal execution in those areas. But I went through the practice feeling good in my body and was really proud of myself for showing up... THEN at the end, Adriene said, "Be yourself today. Be kind to yourself" and I burst into tears. I realized all those thoughts I'd had this morning were about me not accepting myself and being hard on myself (again) instead of giving myself some time and space to get through all the uncertainty. Thank you, Adriene (once again), for being the friend I didn't know I needed today. Namaste ❤️

I did this video at 12:15PM because I needed to restart my day. This morning I gave in to anxiousness and hid away in my bed, but it didn’t feel good - it made me feel worse. So I decided to reboot by rolling out my yoga matt and find what feels good here. Wishing everyone around the world who’s struggling with Covid-19, wheather it’s mentally, physically, or financially, a lot of strength and love 💕 may we all stay safe and find ways to regain balance so we can find what feels good💖

I have a herniated disc in my lower back that pinched my sciatic nerve and doctors said it might require surgery, but after i found this I've been able to keep the pain gone completely, unless i stop lol, then it's back in a week, but I'll take free morning stretches that leave me feeling great over surgery any day!

I’m have to post this. Normally I put two yoga mats out, one for me and one for our dog, Coal, who sits on my yoga mat. Today as I was laying face down stretching my arms doing cobra pose he took his chew toy and proceeded to LAY ON TOP OF ME FULL BODY and chew on his toy. He’s a black lab/valley bull mix. There wasn’t anyone in the house to take a picture. All I could do was laugh with my face in the mat. Dogs teach us so much. Have a wonderful holiday everyone.xo

I've been excited about these short but energizing morning practices because my work schedule is rather demanding. However this morning I came to my mat nervous about the inversion and speed to start because I was nauseous. What Adriene has taught me over the last two years is that it's ok to take the tools you have at hand to take care of yourself. I wanted to beat up on myself for pausing a 15 min video but I paused it, took a couple of deep breaths and continued and I'm starting to benefit from the practice now and not feel as sick. Ty! As always, you're an angel.

Started today in a bit of a funk, worrying about work and my seemingly never-ending to-do list...BUT I promised myself I would get up and do this practice first thing. I think the word 'sunrise' in the title inspired me :)
After 15 minutes on the mat, my work is still there to be done but my focus has shifted away from myself and noticing the small joy in moments. Two colleagues have messaged to say good morning, normally this would be par for the course but today I noticed it and reflected on it, and sent those good wishes back and to two others. It's amazing how yoga can bring out this small stream of joy within - I hope everyone practicing has this revelation and may you all have a wonderful day. <3
