An icon of 20th and 21st century music, the voice of the civil rights movement, and the undisputed Queen of Soul—there is only one Aretha Franklin. In her incredible six-decade career, Aretha evolved from teenage gospel star to reigning pop and R&B diva, recording classics like “(You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman,” “Chain Of Fools”, “Think” (lyrics by Aretha Franklin), definitive versions of the songs “Respect” and “I Say a Little Prayer”, and global hits like “Freeway Of Love,” “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)”, and “A Rose Is Still A Rose.”

Altogether, 112 of her singles reached the charts, with 20 No. 1 R&B singles, the most ever by a female artist. She won 18 Grammy Awards (including the first eight trophies for Best Female R&B Vocal Performance) and, out of recognition for her for indelible contribution to American music and culture, received both the Presidential Medal Of Freedom and a Pulitzer Pr

I am glad I grew up in the 60's and 70's and appreciated and experienced Aretha Franklin music. My grandmother and mother loved her. I remember singing Aretha songs with my grandmother. I am 59 now and still listen to Aretha's music. Can't wait to see the movie.

My mother used to have us cleaning tge house listening to Aretha Franklin. Every generation was introduced to her music. We took a 3 hour drive snd played Aretha the entire time. What as absolute joy!!!! Even my mothers 6 year old granddaughter has been introduced to Aretha's music. She even sang along on all the songs. Two of her favorites, Respect and You better Think!! Thank you Aretha 💞💓💗💞💓💗💞

The first time I heard Giving Him Something He Can Feel made me blush and shot waves through me! I swear to God as I’m writing this, that song did something to the little kid in me! I wasn’t even a teenager yet! But Jesus, she sang that song in a way that grew me up inside! Aretha Franklins voice, phrasing, soul stirring arrangements and emotions ran me wild!! I would sneak and listen to that song bc it was so deep! I also felt that maybe, as a young kid, it was a song that I shouldn’t be hearing. Well I’m fully grown now and the song still moves me as it did then! Aretha is pure genius. I will forever miss her magic. 🙏🏽♥️

As with many celebrities who have passed away, the disrespect and stories whether True or False start to emerge. One thing....No one can take away or Deny her REAL TALENT!Unlike the Wannabes of Today. Rest well Queen.💐
