One thing I love about this series is how expressive the characters can be even without saying anything. The first time Jeremy shows that being told he's "special" is really hurting him at the restaurant it becomes apparent that he feels uncomfortable with her placing of him on a pedestal for the fact that's he's trans. If you remember that he said that he was trans back in season 1, he dosen't need to say anything to immediatley show what he's thinking, it's practically written out in black and white with such a simple movement.

What hurts me the most about this is that Candy's reasoning for asking Jeremy out probably wasn't even a conscious thought. Prejudice isn't always actively malicious, sometimes it's just a filter that your mind views the world through, and it'll affect your judgement given certain information. And sometimes you just don't know how that filter can hurt other people, people who just might be the best people in your life, until it's too late.
I think about this topic a lot, and I'm happy a show like People Watching can explore this and so many other subjects the way it does. Great work, everybody, this season has been stellar 👌

The moment he asked her if she was dating him because he was transgender really caught me by surprise. It actually makes a lot of sense, especially when it came to his shyness about intimacy. I do feel he was a bit too quick consider a relationship with the girl a lost cause. The fact that it didn't matter that he is trans and how much they had in common says a lot about her. Sometimes people are awkward around someone who's different but that usually passes. Like for example I have this friend who's blind from one eye and has a scar, although at first that was the one thing I noticed about him eventually I got used to it and don't even think about it anymore.

as a trans guy that's scared shitless about dating, this hits me hard lol. I never thought I could put into words how paranoid I am about being judged solely on the fact that I still have female parts and all that bullshit. I really do wish that we see more between the two of them because it made me so happy that they met again after that blind date episode.

So jumping back real quick to kind of see where the damage was done, I realize it's the moment she says she could either be Lady or the Tramp. Sure, for her it's either a fine lady or a tramp, but to Jeremy it could also be taken to be about the characters in the movie (which he quoted which led to this exchange) and that could remind him of the transgender issue but also make her seem potentially into trans as a fetish. Not that that is enough, but I would say that's the first hickup

I love the level of introspection in this series. It's always so beautiful to see that someone in the world is able to take the thoughts you couldn't form or hadn't thought of and put them into a collection of sentences that somehow sound more surreal outloud than in your head. The people who write the show really get the bigger picture

"Maybe you should judge books by their cover"
Is that not the most Ironic statement ever.

When Jeremy said “Well, I think you’re just the kind of person who’s smart enough to be really good at any job and that kinda means you can never be defined by what you do” I fell for him a lil more 💞
