It seems like a lot of people in the comments took the video literally, what I got from it is that moving into the apartment represents suicide and the roommate is the part of their brains trying to convince themselves why they should do it. But once they start trying to justify it they realize maybe it isn't what they want after all.

Okay, so I found 5 theories regarding what happened in this episode:
1) She's honestly just renting her apartment out and has this weird quirk that she wants to rent it to someone super lonely
2) Her goal is to help people by making them realize that if they're capable of love (loving someone or something) all is not over and they can still live happy lives
3) She's looking for answers herself, since she IS that lonely, she thinks she IS incapable of love and wants a way out (maybe a reason or a motivation to live on and try again).
4) she wants to find someone (a friend) like her - an ideal match, who is lonely in the exact same way she is, someone who will relate to her completely.
5) The apartment is a metaphor. While scrolling through comments, I saw one that said that this apartment could be a metaphor for Janis herself and for Suicide even...
