I've struggled to understand modes for 40 years and your explanation finally makes them clear to me. I came to this video after seeing the one on dorian which explained how to solo over a dorian progression. Now I have to search your channel in hopes of finding similar lessons on soloing to the other modes.

As someone who grow up listening to a ton of phish in high school, and now in my 30s able to replicate what he does on guitar, I cannot express how cool it is to have his methods broken down like this. I know this video is old but my algorithm is just picking it up now. Awesome work man. Thank you
