My wife gave birth to our first child, a boy named Jackson, on 9/29/17 and the first night we brought him home, I went out to grab us something to eat while she was trying to settle him down and this song came on the radio. I am a strong guy who doesn't cry but this song made me cry like a baby in my truck so much that I had to pull off the side of the road. A part of him will always be my little boy. When I heard this song it really hit home as my 20 year old just left for basic military training in TX for the Air Force. He is my first born and although I know this is what he wanted as I just retired from the Air Force 1 July 2017 it hurt me knowing that he wasn't coming home. He is my everything from the time he was born until now. He has been a big role model to his 16 year old sister and his little buddy his 11 year old brother. This song brings me to tears. My dad had 4 boys and we pushed him to the limit. I remember growing up I would get mad bc he always worked. I felt left out. It wasnโt until I had kids of my own that I realized he worked himself to the bone just to make sure we never went without. The respect I have for my dad is endless. My wife and I listened to this song while watching our 11 year old boy on his first day of middle school and how its seems like yesterday when I saw my wife holding him on a hospital bed. My son is currently in the nicu for along time heโs only 2 months old he was born prematurely at 1.7 oz heโ has a hole in his heart and currently has chronic lung disease as of today heโs currently 3lb heโs a true fighter in my eyes and I know he will be cause he is apart of me.
