My pet peeve is drum teachers who do shared lessons so your time is split with someone else you don't know, aside from anything else it's very embarrassing when you're a beginner and the other person is at a much higher level, not the best way to learn, I actually gave up after a handful of lessons but am intending on trying again from scratch with Drumeo at home

Sound checks...I have been with bands that made it a point to do sound checks as quickly as possible. We would get through levels in less than three minutes, monitors the same. We'd do a chorus of a song, everyone who solos would do a quick segment and done and get off stage. We were every sound techs' favorite band because of that and they would bend over backwards to make us sound amazing and maccomodate all kinds of adjustments on the fly.

That beer comment hit me right in the heart.
My band was warming up for this bigger band, but their drummers kit was stuck at the airport, and he asked if he could use mine. "Sure, no problem".
Now, this was not a known band or anything, but they got a records deal, so were high on themselves.
I set up everything, did all the mics and all other stuff. When they were done, he didn't thank me, didn't offer a beer, didn't even ask if I needed help to pack it all down. Just said "see ya" and left.
I was seething! Wished all kinds of bad s*** on him.
Heard he broke his wrist 2 days later when he slipped on some ice.
Gotta admit, didnt feel sorry for him!

You have a choice in timing: You can roll with it to cover their mistake-and get blamed, or you can fight them with meter, and make them sound bad-and get blamed. I was in a band where the keyboard player had issues and hard as I tried to work with him, it was never good enough. Iād go to my apartment, rudiments with metronomeā¦and it was worse until one day, my light went on, I told him to pound sand and flew back to NY. I later found out my replacement had the same issue and threatened to put his light outā¦no problem after that.
