0:38 titles - 1:01 use a nice thick juicy and crisp black marker - 1:12 you could use a coloured marker - 1:30 try a couple of quick and easy ways to change up your handwriting (e.g. cursive, tall thin capital letters (1:48)) 2:03 addons - 2:09 squiggly line underneath text - 2:15 draw a rectangle around your words - 2:31 draw two horizontal bars using a highlighter or the thick side of a marker - 2:52 highlight underneath your text (a coloured in box) - 2:58 add two cute little symbols on either side of the text - 3:09 draw a banner 5:11 stationary swaps (don't need to focus too much on this section if you haven't masteredyour actual notetaking methods) - 5:28 making the swap from taking notes in pencil to writing them in black pen - 6:10 use pastel highlighters instead of neon highlighters (or you could use crayola supertips which have some nice pastels in them) - 6:28 opt for thinner tipped highlighters instead of thicker ones when you can (maybe for people with smaller handwriting) - 6:44 try to find paper with lighter or thinner lines on it 6:57 formatting - 7:15 leave a lot of white space - 7:23 folding your page in half and writing in two columns instead of one - 7:38 a dot circle bullet point looks better than a dash - 7:48 if you have a long line of text that goes onto the next line below it then make sure that the start of the second line starts where the first line of text starts, not where the bullet point is 8:14 visual aids - 8:36 decorate with stickers - 8:46 print out diagrams whenever possible - 8:56 print out various templates for what subject you're studying (e.g. polar coordinates - you could print out polar graphs or for organic chemistry then you can print out hexagon sheets) - 9:11 print out pictures that are relevant to the subject material REMEMBER AESTHETIC DOES NOT EQUAL EFFECTIVE STUDYING

A tip from something I did in high school: write titles and that sort of thing on pencil. When you are done taking notes, get home, revise and fix the title with pretty pens.

Y'all, stop letting a not so great handwriting discourage you. I worked a lot on my handwriting in quarantine and it has improved a lot. There are free worksheets and yt tutorials, you just need to practice it. You can definitely do it too!!

To make it easier to take notes, I recommend having one notebook for class that has all of your quickly written notes for when your teacher turns into Eminem, and then a second one where you rewrite the notes in an aesthetically pleasing way. This way you don't waste time trying to make them pretty and miss info, but can still have easy to understand notes

STUDY TIP: ✨Have you guys noticed that you study better when you’re not at home or school? I was waiting in the lounge at a Toyota store and I finished a homework assignment and I can remember all the research I did for the assignment! When I want to remember the information i think about sitting on this particular chair in this room. Turns out that our brain associates certain information with the place where you learned it and makes a subtle connection. When you need to remember something, just think of the place and what you were feeling when you remembered studying it and the answer will come too you. That’s why listening to different music and changing your study environment each time will help with memory recall. Lofi music with a memorable and detailed picture is even better (in my opinion)

Summary for myself: 1. Titles, make them stand out by writing in capital letters and/or writing in colorful markers. 2. Stationary swaps, master your note-taking methods first. Supplies doesn't help you organize your notes, only YOU do. Get a pen that's comfortable to write. 3. Formatting, leave white spaces in between writings whenever you see fit. Fold your paper vertically in half, you'll save some space. Dot bullet points are more pleasing to look at (imo). If the bullet point is VERY long, line the 2nd line with the bullet point so it looks more neat. 4. Visual aids, you don't need to go all out and make it a masterpiece. Decorate it with stickers, print out pictures to stick it in your notes/a seperate notebook (don't use too much glue, it'll destroy the paper).
