to anyone that is complaining about the new adaptation of the color purple, here is something you should know. this is NOT a remake of the classic 1985 film, this new movie is based on the musical version that was on broadway. the musical is actually vastly different from the movie. it follows the book much closer so itâs gonna be a completely different interpretation that has no connection to the original movie at all. this movie will be its own thing so there is nothing to complain about and there is nothing to worry about. the original movie will remain untouched. just keep watching the original movie if you that pressed and shut up lol. this new version wonât take away from the original AT ALL. and itâs not like the original is being replaced. people need to understand the difference between remake and adaptation. besides, the cast for this movie is STACKED and they are all insanely talented. thereâs way too much talent in that cast to complain. based on the trailer, it looks like itâs gonna be an amazing movie.
