Funny, I was leaving Germany to go home to the US for a few weeks when the Bahnstreik was happening. I managed to get to Frankfurt without issue, but the only reason I had to go to Frankfurt was because they canceled my flight from Stuttgart the day before it was supposed to leave! It took three hours and some stressed, crappy German to get rebooked, but hey, I made it home. :)
