Ghosts 1...the angelic voices over the top of the post apocalyptic sirens is the perfect juxtaposition...from despair to hope set in a grey soundscape. I'm still getting lost in NIN work, despite listening to them from the beginning, and I keep discovering new things within their craft. Unbelievable band.

In 2015 I was facing homelessness, prison time, deaths, breakups, heroin addiction.. my world was crashing around me, ghosts was the perfect soundtrack to describe and be misery's compainion. Ive had better days since then, but that sense of impending doom has been blowing its cold breath on the back of my neck again, making my hairs stand up and making smooth skin give way to bumps again. There's a certain sense of finalization in the air again. The world is getting even more wild in 2022, I had to come back to this album, its the soundtrack to catastrophy.

13 Ghosts II takes me to another place I can't describe. Everyone has their lowest of the low, downtrodden depression song, where the music comforts their isolation. And 13 Ghosts II is that song for me.

I have always loved this release. However, it does seem to trigger melancholic feelings within me, which then morphs into a pool of depression. Its so good, but quite the trade off. Here we go again.

Trent Reznor and Thom Yorke.....are on a level of depth and light that I'm working on reaching within myself. Both artists have given me a vocabulary through music to describe my depths, intuition, and other level moods....I believe both are lightworkers, empaths, etc.....I crave their experiments and expressions that they gift to the masses.

Ghosts I-IV is my all time favourite. Listening to this is medative for me - if I fly anywhere, I loop this and just completely zone out, and it gets me through. Always calms me and puts me in a dark, but safe place.

It's interesting how opinion of NIN albums have flipped with age. Was really disappointed with Ghosts as a teen, hoping for more noisy, pop-y tracks like those from Downward Spiral and PHM. Those albums are still good, but I much prefer Ghosts and The Fragile now.

we're living rough trent. 17 years now. but we grew up same generation as neighbors. im sure you knew machines of loving grace. they played head like a hole at the fineline. that club where most of us kinda grew up with nothing else to do. just thanks man. what people dont realize is that artists and musicians give us that much needed escape. not the world. not their terrible "reality" but a place we can all go. have a good cry together. lean on each others shoulders. no wonder so many of us got lost in it. you make a "fantasy" that is better than "reality" man.

12 Ghosts II just fills me with so many emotions I can't quite describe; a warm and comforting longing, yearning, for something better. To me, the song is a cold melancholy surrounded by a shield of warmth. It's truly something beautiful, it heals me.
