For anyone watching the product daily and understands how the stories have been structured, Priest winning is not a surprise at all. LA just got over like a month back. Priest was being pushed strong for quite a while, especially during the Bad Bunny feud. So it wasn't a bad pick like you just said it was.
LA Knight is good enough to keep getting hotter after every segment. He is a generational talent. From my experience of watching NXT black and gold, Triple H is someone who believes in the process. So, we need to trust it.

If LA Knight won the briefcase, he would've failed the cash in too. If LA Knight won the briefcase and won the belt, I could hear people saying, "He's getting pushed too soon." "He's getting overpushed." Give him time. He's only been on the main roster for like a year

MITB was a really enjoyable show. Fantastic main event, fun ladder matches, great surprises and returns. Everything was done correctly in this PLE.

To say MITB 2023 was bad just because of one match is proof that the people who say such things are not true wrestling fans. Those people wanted LA Knight to win; a tragic few actually chose Logan Paul; I myself chose Butch; in the end, Damian won, ‘cause he’s the one with a storyline going on, unlike the other contestants.

Priest has a legitimate reason of winning. He’s been on the main roster since 2020, helped Bad Bunny through each of his performances, 1x NXT North American Champion, 1x United States Champion, in a more prominent position than LA Knight thanks to being in one of the better stables today, and the storyline between him & Finn makes sense (especially since Damian & Finn have hints of breaking up, Finn wants revenge on Seth & Damian winning the MITB). His story can go multiple ways.
With LA Knight, nobody cared until his rivalry with Bray Wyatt earlier this year (and he hasn’t done anything of note since). If LA Knight won, he wasn’t gonna cash in on Roman or who beats him, and I highly doubt he’d be successful against the WHC title picture (Rollins, Balor, Gunther, McIntyre, etc;)

I think there were some issues with the show, the men’s ladder match was kinda sloppy, but overall the show was good, the last two matches were fantastic, and I feel like the right people won, I know LA Knight is really over, and I hope they do something with him because he’s super talented, but I think what they’re cooking up with the Judgement Day will still be super interesting

How is Damien winning the most puzzling result? He made the most sense to win, he has is current storyline with Finn in the Judgment Day going into MiTB, which created multiple angles for them to use later in the night and moving forward (arguably they didn't go in the right direction the night of, but time will tell). If LA Knight won, he'd be the briefcase holder...and that's it. Who's he going to cash in on where it will matter of get him any more over than he is now? It's not like he's taking the Universal title from Roman, so it'd either be a midcard title or the WHC, which still needs to be built up to matter. Plus Damien was likely locked in to win MiTB since his performance at Backlash. Plus the match itself was great, regardless of the result.

i mean, to each there own but i don't really agree with the damien priest bit. i think story-wise it could be interesting, especially if finn wins the world title at some point and damien uses the briefcase to keep finn as champ. sure, la knight would have been a great moment and could be the better decision in the long run. however, it just happened a day ago so to say full out damien was the worst pick is jumping the gun a little to me. maybe this turns out horrible, maybe it doesn't.

I get the impression that you view Damien Preist as a mid card talent who isn't ready for the main title scene. But isn't that the point of Money in the Bank in the first place? To build up someone to be at that level? Priest has been progressively doing well and starting to grow out of being the least relevant member of the Judgement Day. Giving him the briefcase gives him a chance to get more over with the crowd as opposed to LA Knight who is already over and will probably get his time in the future based on the crowd reaction he gets without the briefcase. People complain that WWE doesn't make new stars and yet when it actually happens they still complain.

Surprising cause i had a totally different opinion i tought it was good, both money in the bank were fast action paced and i liked the winners, LA knight winning wouldn't be good. he needs to get Austin Theory belt first, and Iyo Shirai winning is also another W. Seth and Damien Priest partnership is a hotmess after Damien trying to cash in and the main effect gave us a good moment. Wasn't GREAAAT but was good to watch.
