Here's the meaning of all of Melanie's songs from crybaby to portals Starting with Crybaby: Crybaby- Being emotional and being made fun of for it Dollhouse- Toxic and messed up families that seem perfect on the outside but really aren't Sippy cup- Being and alchoholic and that causing you to be sychopathic Carousel- Feeling like your traped in an infinite cycle during a relationship that's one sided Alphabet boy- Getting annoyed by someone who tries to act smarter and more talented then you Soap- Being scared to tell someone how you really feel becauss your scared of rejection and don't want to over share Training wheels (my favourite) - Wanting to go further in a relationship but the other person is oblivious to your feelings Pity party- Being lonely and feeling like no one likes you or wants you in a friendship or relationship Tag you're it- Getting kidnapped or taken advantage of becauss your really vulnerable Milk and cookies- Poisoning/murdering someone or getting revenge Pacify her- Wanting to take someones man but not because you want him, but just because you want to free him from the toxic relationship that he's in and for fun Mrs potato head (Melanie's favourite) - Feeling insecure about you and your body and wanting to change yourself for others (just remember that you are beautiful and unique in your own incredible way just like everyone else in the world 😊) Mad Hatter- Accepting yourself for who you are and just being your crazy self Play date- Getting sick of being treated like a child in a relationship and wanting to be more then a, well, play date Teddy bear- Being terrified and not knowing what to do in a toxic or abusive relationship Cake- Being treated like an object that has no rights and is treated with no fairness or respect Now onto K-12 (I'm getting tired so these will be pretty short): Wheels on the bus- Being bullied and neglected by adults becuse they are to careless to do anything about it Class fight- Getting jealous of another persons relationship and it resulting in physical fights The principal- Being treated cruelly and greedily by someone who thinks they are of higher importance then you Show and tell- Celebrities being treated like they aren't human and don't have feelings by their fans and society Nurse's office (Melanie's favourite) - Being forced to take/do things that you dont want to do Drama club- Being forced to be someone your not for fame and popularity Strawberry shortcake (my favourite) - How society and men treat women like they're objects that they can control and take advantage of Lunchbox friends- Having fake friends who only want you for your advantages like your fame and to make them seem more important and well known Orange juice- Having to hide your true self from others, this song specifically talks about and eating disorder called bulimia which means that oranges will make you very ill if you eat them and can result in barring them out Detention- Having to do things purely for the pleasure and entertainment of others and being trapped basically Teacher's pet- I don't want to get to deep into this one but it's basically about inapropriate teacher-student relationships 🤮 High school sweethearts- I'm not too sure about this one but I think it's about explaining what you want and need from a partner/relationship (correct me if I'm wrong) Recess- Being tought not to let others tell you what you can and can't do, and what you can and can't be and letting go of shitty people Finally PORTALS (sorry again if they're a bit short it's like 10:30 at night and I'm exhausted): DEATH- The idea that even though your body has died, your spirit and soul is still alive and will continue to be alive forever VOID (Melanie's favourite) - Self reflection and processing emotions like anxiety and lack of self confidence TUNNEL VISION- Someone only wanting you in a relationship for your sexual advantages and your body FAIREE SOIRÈE- Escaping reality and being transported to a more beautiful and mystical world LIGHT SHOWER- Finding a person or a place that makes you feel safe and protected for the trauma and mistakes of your past life SPIDER WEB- Social media addictions that effect you and your life in unsafe ways LEECHES- Letting people who don't understand or respect you for who are into your friendship circle BATTLE OF THE LARYNX- Standing up for yourself when others are trying to overshadow you and your oppinion and making sure that you are heard THE CONTORTIONIST- Being forced into positions for someone who doesn't really like you MOON CYCLE- Men who are obsessed with the idea of periods in sexual and abusivde ways NYMPHOLOGY- Femininity and fertility (nymphs are a mythical creature that are very feminine and can range from sirens to fairies) EVIL- Reflecting on a toxic relationship and basically saying that the other person did that, but you guess that you were the evil one (in a sarcastic way) WOMB- Entering a new lifetime and seeing your memories fade away to make room for new ones POWDER (my favourite) - Struggling to be in a relationship with someone who has an addiction to drugs (probably cocaine based on the song name) PLUTO- The desire to let go of the past and all of the things that have happened in your life MILK OF THE SIREN- Wanting women to join forces together to rise up and take control of their own lives because men don't allow them to OMG THAT TOOK ME LIKE AN HOUR TO DO!!!! I worked really hard on this comment and I hope it was accurate.
