3:33 I love how the bass guitar volume slowly increases to make that part sound darker.

Listening to this song on repeat. Thinking of everything i've lost recently, things and people that i loved. Somekind of beatiful sadness hits me. Still full of hope for the future, no matter how hard it can be sometimes, the heart remains open to life. Feeling alive right now.

Get dressed in your bed, while she's asleep It isn't right, but it isn't hard Tell me, tell me, won't you understand? Show me, show me, show me a better plan It's summer lies, it's someone else's nothing Here it comes now You ask me to stay You ask me to stay You ask me to stay But there's a million reasons to leave Find a job, find a friend Find a home, find a dog Settle down, out of town Find a dream, shut it down Please, please don't point it that way It's just a trigger that goes once and you'll be unafraid I wish that I'd been noticed, but it never goes that way The silence that you brought has gone, gone, gone Tell me, tell me, won't you understand? Show me, show me, show me You ask me to stay You ask me to stay You ask me to stay But there's a million reasons to leave Show me what to say, show me what to be Show me what to see, show me what to be Find a job, find a friend Find a home, find a dog Settle down, out of town Find a dream, shut it down I don't wanna be in there with you I don't wanna be in there without your loving either I waited for your thoughts Can't wait no longer

That falsetto though. So addicting. This is not Take on Me,this is original. It's you've gone too simple. This song was intended to be complicated.

I find it sad and funny how many people criticized Julian's work. It's like the only things that matter the must is "This Is it" for them. They had underrated all Julian's work after that FIRST CD of the Strokes but honestly each Album from Julian is very special, they are all great , including the last one With The Voidz. His music and lyrics are way beyond comparing with others musicians and also he is original. Not many musicians out there Like Julian Is.

Its a very upbeat yet lyrically depressing song, perfect mix. Even though people are saying they hate the vocals, I think they are really what makes this song great. Jules didn't lose anything in fact quite the contrary.

"Find a dog. Settle down." That's one of my favorite parts of the song.

If I had to listen to nothing but the Strokes for the rest of my life, I'd be happy.

Damn, when I first heard this song. I thought it was really cool but now that I’m older and understand the context. It hits hard, adulthood expectations are tough and in this case it’s adulthood and relationships expectations. 💀 It’s crazy but it’s songs like these for which is why I love The Strokes ❤

Being a HUGE Strokes fan from the very beginning I'm so happy to hear this and realize how the're changing and are breaking new ground! This is what makes a great band

To those complaining, No this does not sound like "Take On Me". It is a different sound, it is a different melody. It's the Strokes. No this is not Is This It. You're still living in 2001. There have been 3 albums prior to this that were also not Is This It. Big surprise that the Strokes have changed their sound over the years like every other band. Don't read or listen to what music critics ever have to say. They are always full of crap. No one has the right to critique music, or any art form for that matter, because it's all opinionated. Listen to this whole album and tell me that the Strokes don't still kick ass. Thanks for five incredible albums Strokes, can't wait for the sixth.
