Great video!
A side effect of dark rain was that those archers could walk over water and JACK BE NIMBLE was one of my favourites as well. The flying cows and vills spinning or flying like superman from a catapult were really fun to shoot at your opponents.

I wish that photon man had the red laser machine gun that it had in the original, rather than projectiles. But I'm glad that he exists at all.

Cheat units always make me think that these were assets that got made during the very early design process before there was clear decision about what kind of theme the game was meant to have.

Man, those cheats takes me back. I didn't really mess around with them much in the later games, but loved doing tactical strikes on ancient civs with a team of robots and laser troopers supported by nuke troopers and ICBMs 🤣

I almost forgot how bonkers AOE1 cheats were!
I would have loved to see "King Arthur" available in AOE2... It would make much more sense!

Dark rain archers can walk on water
Use hoyo hoyo before upgrading treble techs for 1200 HP and even more speed
Also, Jack be nimble (cows and Superman villagers for catapult projectiles)
Upsideflintmobile (speedy chariots)
I hope they add those
One thing about Medusa is that at one stage I think villagers needed to be tasked to attack something so that they are villagers when they die.
Farmers, miners, fishermen, lumberjacks, foragers just died , unless they changed things

The “Dark Reign” cheat may well be a reference to the 90s rts of the same name. Forgotten classic that one.

Great compilation! It's great to see also this element being upgraded and included in RoR expansion. In 1DE I didn't use them that much, but in 1997 I certainly used them a lot for... hmm, research.

When you develop Mysticism in Temple AFTER using hoyohoyo cheat your priests hp will double to 1200. It was at least true for Vanilla AOE

pow was without exclamation mark, at least in the original.
Also a difference between bigdaddy and big momma, at least back in the day, was that bigdaddy has more damage that also deals splash damages to friendly units. Whereas big momma has no friendly fire. For this reason, I always preferred big momma as large groups of bigdaddy's would end up destroying eachother.

i sometimes did that, spawn 2 squads of 12 photons with 4 emc guys and 1 mech. and thats all you had. basicly you were stranded troopers trying to proctect their camp, you cant advance age and have to survive on a 1v7 and cant rush them, with only your main building and some huts.

I remember when I was a kid, playing with photon mans (after I was definitely going to lose a game), and suddenly one of my photon mans was converted by the enemy. It was hell, it would constantly kill someone and disappear again.

Nuke trooper with icbm can fire across the map (with attack ground command)

Does 'grantlinkspence' cheat code is here as well? It turns aninal into king variants

From what i saw in the video,bigdaddy and photon man isnt even remotely as OP as they were in the original game
Photon man fired like 20 shots in a single second and bigdaddy had a huge area of effect
