"Fever Ray and the song Keep the Streets Empty struck us immediately with its fateful sound and images of abandoned suburbia begun to grow in front of our eyes. We wanted to continue the journey that started in the former videos and our ambition was to catch the feeling in a very direct and true way and create a video where dream and reality intertwine." - Fabian and Jens

I’m 72years old and still find it one of my favorite songs ever. It is gorgeous and a pleasure to listen late at night with the lights off.

I was walking home in Edinburgh to that song one night, after a late library session in the middle of the winter. Snow was falling and the streets were eerily empty so it just fit perfectly. Just as I was about to arrive I met a fox under these old pedestrian lights, its footprints imprinted in the snow, watching me. I remember staying there a while, thinking how peaceful this was. Perfect song, perfect moment.

Now as a grown man, I'm finally becoming able to go back, way back through the time, to the place, and find, hug, comfort and talk to the child I once was, and who is sitting there alone, frightened, hurt and misunderstood. That kid I used to be and - that I still am. To tell him that it's not his fault and that everything'll be ok.

This song brought me to tears. I know there are so many people in this world that are living in pain. I know that I’m not the only one that feels the same. I just want to say if you are reading this be strong and love yourself. When we do that that’s the greatest treasure. Namaste my fellow humans

It’s been over a decade and this song still brings back all the memories of me praying that the streets would be empty while I would look for somewhere to sleep.

if you are reading this, understand you are not your emotions. they come and go. identifying with your emotions takes you on the path of suffering. transcend them by active observing them.

Dark but never pessimistic. The healing power of night, when you can take comfort in your self and become fully charged for the merciless rays of daylight.

One of the things I love about the internet, social media, streaming etc, is there's SO MUCH access to great music out there other than the utter shit they try to shove down our throats on the radio and in the mainstream. I haven't listened to the radio in probably 10 years.

What’s weird is my mum sent me this song before she passed away in December and I never realised how deep this was until she was gone, it makes a lot of sense to me now Here’s to you mum 🍻

I used to love sneaking out of my boarding school and wandering the empty streets, the woods and heaths at night. It was an escape from painful, unhappy, stressful captivity into a quiet and mysterious world, simultaneously peaceful and thrilling. Under snow, the mundane was transformed into the magical - all the more so because in southern England it's so rare and so ephemeral. This music captures the essence of those memories so well.

One of my favourite songs. Listen to it on a chilly dark night in the dark, looking out of a big window at the rain. Such a good fit to the mood...

Memory comes when memory's old I am never the first to know Following the stream up North Where do people like us float There is room in my lap For bruises, asses, handclaps I will never disappear For forever, I'll be here Whispering Morning, keep the streets empty for me Morning, keep the streets empty for me I'm laying down, eating snow My fur is hot, my tongue is cold On a bed of spider web I think of how to change myself A lot of hope in a one man tent There's no room for innocence So take me home before the storm Velvet mites will keep us warm Whispering Morning, keep the streets empty for me Morning, keep the streets empty for me Whispering Morning, keep the streets empty for me Morning, keep the streets empty for me Uncover our heads and reveal our souls We were hungry before we were born Uncover our heads and reveal our souls We were hungry before we were born Uncover our heads and reveal our souls We were hungry before we were born Uncover our heads and reveal our souls We were hungry before we were born Tiocfaidh ár lá 😘❤️💞

We need to tend to the wounded, as the human soul is at odds with itself, and suffering. We ignore the tired, drug-addicted, homeless suffering on the streets. That is not a problem that will heal itself, but requires action, in inspiration from our artists who have become god-like in their castles and disconnected from their people. Say nothing of our leaders, because they are even worse. What do we do? I start with myself, and devote myself to first trying to heal the core of my beautiful city, Seattle. I start in 3 days working downtown on the streets of every alley I know all too well. I do it for love of humanity, and for whatever good may remain within us. Great Song.
