This song brought me to tears. I know there are so many people in this world that are living in pain. I know that I’m not the only one that feels the same. I just want to say if you are reading this be strong and love yourself. When we do that that’s the greatest treasure. Namaste my fellow humans

Now as a grown man, I'm finally becoming able to go back, way back through the time, to the place, and find, hug, comfort and talk to the child I once was, and who is sitting there alone, frightened, hurt and misunderstood. That kid I used to be and - that I still am. To tell him that it's not his fault and that everything'll be ok.

Memory comes when memory's old
I am never the first to know
Following the stream up North
Where do people like us float
There is room in my lap
For bruises, asses, handclaps
I will never disappear
For forever, I'll be here
Whispering
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
I'm laying down, eating snow
My fur is hot, my tongue is cold
On a bed of spider web
I think of how to change myself
A lot of hope in a one man tent
There's no room for innocence
So take me home before the storm
Velvet mites will keep us warm
Whispering
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
Whispering
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
Morning, keep the streets empty for me
Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born
Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born
Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born
Uncover our heads and reveal our souls
We were hungry before we were born

We need to tend to the wounded, as the human soul is at odds with itself, and suffering. We ignore the tired, drug-addicted, homeless suffering on the streets. That is not a problem that will heal itself, but requires action, in inspiration from our artists who have become god-like in their castles and disconnected from their people. Say nothing of our leaders, because they are even worse. What do we do? I start with myself, and devote myself to first trying to heal the core of my beautiful city, Seattle. I start in 3 days working downtown on the streets of every alley I know all too well. I do it for love of humanity, and for whatever good may remain within us. Great Song.

This is a poetic masterpiece. A song about isolation, very true today. And Karin's exceptionally nuanced voice together with the unique sound of twilight make this a perfect companion on a sleepless night ! Sure seems to feel like you are waking up surrounded by icy crystals on a winter's morning.

I listened to this album during a very dark part of my life and it helped keep me from jumping off of the highest building I could find. I heard Fever Ray through a streaming radio thing I think Last FM was it and it played Concrete Walls which blew me away. Then I got the full album and all of the Knife stuff that was out there. I'd shuffle it all up with some other artists and it was how I kept sane for a while.

I was walking home in Edinburgh to that song one night, after a late library session in the middle of the winter. Snow was falling and the streets were eerily empty so it just fit perfectly. Just as I was about to arrive I met a fox under these old pedestrian lights, its footprints imprinted in the snow, watching me. I remember staying there a while, thinking how peaceful this was. Perfect song, perfect moment.
