First time I've seen one of your videos. Super entertaining! I'm also incredibly excited by the rules changes. Though I'm still painting my first army and preparing to play my first game of 40K, I've seen enough battle reports to know of several gamey things I wasn't a fan of in 8th. It sounds like 9th is an incredibly thorough overhaul of 8th's core concepts that lean into the mind's eye aspect of the hobby and game that drew me to it in the first place. Anyway, great video and I look forward to more.

Thanks for doing this! I don't normally watch unboxing videos, but I'll make an exception. ;) Plus, I like that you included some rules information to make it more enticing! And your enthusiasm for the Necrons really comes across on video. :D I don't blame you for getting distracted; I got my first FW model today and I really want to play with it! Stupid work.
I will say that I love the little bullet points at the bottom of each section. They keep all the really important bits handy so you don't have to go searching through paragraphs.
That vertical Engagement rule was much needed in my opinion. Keeps things from just sitting on a roof or something without being able to be Charged.
The change to the Fly keyword is also a much needed change in my opinion. Some armies got way too much utility from that.
The change to 'wholly within' for the Transport disembarkation is interesting, as it the fact that you cannot get into a Transport that is within Engagement range of an enemy. No more jumping in a Transport and then falling back!
I also think the change to the Psychic Phase is a good one. Keeps things tidy. The lack of being able to Fall Back and cast spells is curious. I guess it means you cannot fall Back closer to a character and cast something like Smite. You can still cast within Engagement though, so that is good.
I also like the change to Look Out Sir! Makes more sense than a character standing in the open that cannot be targeted just because there is another unit 10 inches closer.
I am really interested in seeing that Blast Weapon list. Flamers aren't there from what they were saying, which is weird, but some of the others they have mentioned make sense.
As much as I would love seeing Wounds roll over in Melee, I can see why they didn't do so. It would be confusing to have Ranged Wounds function differently.
Thank goodness for the removal of building modifiers! As you said, it could get silly and everyone should have a chance to hit at least.
The change to the Fight phase was unexpected but I think is a good one. Gives the opponent a chance to not just get wrecked before they can Fight after the charges. You'll also have to be cognizant of how many units you leave in Melee.
I love that Morale feels important now, and people can pass even if they lost a bunch of models on a 1. The auto-pass Strat going to 1 use per game is another welcome change in my opinion.

I like the sound of the morale changes, no longer will gun lines or choppy units be able to decimate a large unit and know 100% the rest will simply be running so can switch focus to another target, now there is always a chance a few models will remain. Plus by introducing the two stages of the morale check I'm hoping units with morale modifying abilities such as Rievers and Night Lords will have more of an impact in game.
Biggest question mark for me are the proposed points increase across all units, the details have not been released so will be interesting to see those.

hi, I think attacking with less models is a big change. For your World Eaters it might not have an impact but for Genestealers and Orcs (typically needing 20+ models to unlock those extra attacks) it will and also less attacks means tougher to get through those 2+, 3++ and disgustingly resilient saves stacking (where those 60 attacks leaves the average of 5 killed in the end). These units also typically are fearless or whatever, needing no morale checks, so cant use the new strategem (6+ and pick one extra off). But I guess we have to play to find out in the long term.

For those asking, the date we were allowed to release this moved forward because some people just couldn’t help themselves and leaked the details. I say the 6th because when filmed, that was the date we had. I hope you’re all as exited as I am.
