I'm aware it may seem like I'm belittling panic attacks - in the moment it can seem IMPOSSIBLE to find it funny. I'm trying to take away the monstrosity of them. Please don't think I don't know how terrifying they actually feel lol. It really does help to try and make them feel smaller!

luv u xoxoxo

My therapist told me that the first 'shot' of adrenaline you get when you start to panic only has a life of 60 seconds. Basically your body will naturally use up that amount of adrenaline in 60 seconds and you can return to normal. I now count backwards from 60 if I feel that first rush and it has been incredibly helpful in preventing a lot of panic attacks that might otherwise have derailed my whole day. I'm not successful every time, but one less panic attack is definitely a good thing!

'10/10 would panic again' I love you I used to have a 'panic box'. The idea is you get a cardboard box and decorate it, and fill it with things that calm you. Mine used to be filled with pictures of space and the universe, and quotes about how insignificant we are, and it calmed be down because it reminded me that whatever I was panicking about wasn't actually important, all consuming and all ending. This is useful for panic attacks that are triggered by more psychological than physical issues. :) The ones I get from claustrophobia I'm yet to conquer!

i used to randomly panic when i was at school, and i remember that the one thing that really helped me was focusing on someone else and trying to follow their breathing patterns. i also tried to act normal while doing so and that usually made the panic 'get bored' and leave faster :) hope this can help someone !!

TIP TO HELP WITH AN ANXIETY ATTACK. - Look around you.- Find 5 things you can see, 4 things you can touch, 3 things you can hear, 2 things you can smell and 2 things you can taste. This is called grounding. It can help when you feel like you have lost all control of your surroundings. Hope this helps πŸ’›πŸ’› xxx

Does anyone else not feel like themselves any more? I'm too conscious of every move I make. I can't laugh anymore, I feel fake. I feel like whatever I did 10 minutes ago wasn't even me. I don't know how to hold myself and I've even forgotten how to talk to my best friends, everyone really. I've forgotten how to have the simplest of conversations and it's slowly killing me. Am I alone?

I panic whenever I have an asthma attack. Which obviously doesn't help me breathe again.

another tip, if you ever think anything like 'i cant stop this, im gonna go insane', just imagine trump telling you that. because its easier to tell him 'fuck off youre wrong ill be just fine' than to tell yourself. a silly, yet helpful tip.

When I was diagnosed with a panic disorder my doctor and I came up with a mantra that I tell myself every time I panic... I am fine, everything is fine, I will be ok because everything is fine. Let it come let it go but in the end, all is well.

I've had a panic attack once in my life and I feel like the worst thing is seeing people around you talking about you to other people for example: "How long has this been happening to her?" "When did this start" "Have you tried doing this.." "You should call her mom" and just thinking of things you want to say but you physically can't stop crying and/or screaming. Or when you just think about how you are screaming and feel so out of control. It was definitely the worst six hours of my life; I have troubles explaining it to people but I guess it's hard to understand it until you've been through it. I wish I could've remembered this video when I was having a panic attack, it's hard to think rationally when in such a state.
