Okay, I have A LOT of things to talk about for this mix, so here goes! For starters, Wouldn't it be Nice is oddly enough a really good way to start the mix! I thought it was kind of weird for James Gunn to start the second mix with Mr. Blue Sky, but it worked out in its own strange way, setting the tone for the rest of the mix. I personally LOVE Wouldn't it be Nice, as it is one of my favorite Beach Boys songs. Sweet City Man fits great in the second slot, but although every single time I hear Play That Funky Music I just have to jam to it, I've never really found it fitting to an Awesome Mix (watch it appear in the next movie now!) Shame Shame Shame is a fun song in the middle of the playlist, as well as Lola. Now, I have to say that I can listen to Steely Dan all day long, and Reelin' in the Years is definitely in my top five favorite songs by them. I've never really sat down and listened to the Clash all that much, but I have seen Stranger Things, and really like Should I Stay or Should I Go (I have no idea what it's about... maybe he's at a baseball game and the team he's rooting for is losing?) But either way, I Fought the Law isn't a bad song on the setlist. I've also heard my fair share of REO Speedwagon, and Take it On the Run is probably the best song to put in an Awesome Mix (either that or Can't Fight This Feeling.) I'm sorry, every time I hear Superfreak, I immediately think, "Can't Touch This," and I CAN'T be the only one. Hey Jude is a great song by The Beatles, but it is very long, and to me feels a little better in the middle or possibly even closer to the end of the setlist. Overall, this was another great Awesome Mix! I can't wait to hear Vol. 8 and 9!
