I have only ever gotten 1 book from a youtuber I follow but have bought many recommended by youtubers I follow for educational purposes so for a youtuber I have followed for years to release an educational book is definitely something I am interested in.

I'm reminded of "The Way Things Work", which was instrumental in how engineering concepts were explained to me. I'm certain that this book will also be paramount in helping me (and others) understand the infrastructure around us.

As a Truck Driver Iā€™m not educated enough to understand complex formulas applied to civil engineering but your channel itā€™s so fascinating and easy to understand that is really incredible all the work that goes into our everyday infrastructure. Thank You, Iā€™m definitely picking up a copy.

Received my 10 copies today. I spent part of my life in the book manufacturing industry. Nice turncased edges, spine, binding, and board stock. I'm assuming it's Davy Board, pretty standard in the industry. And of course Grady's great content. I'm looking forward to hand delivering these as Christmas presents. I know that the parents and children alike will enjoy them for years to come. Love the little funny scenes you slipped in too. It's obvious that a lot of love went into it.

I should have paid for faster shipping, because Iā€™m super excited for my copy to arrive. The illustrations look phenomenal, and as a soon-to-be mechanical engineer, Iā€™m very excited to learn more about the infrastructure that makes our world work. Great work, Grady!

My copy is on the way to Canada right now. I'm always happy to support a channel like this one, but what really excited me was the isometric art. It reminds me of books I read as a kid that first sparked my interest in engineering and science.

Just received our sign copy, and my son was pleasantly surprised and excited to dive in. It ended up being a belated birthday gift, but from the perspective and knowledge he'll gain from your book, I'm sure that little wait with be worth it, for years to come. Thank you again for creating this easy to digest book, from one father to another. God speed, Grady.

Grady, I cannot express how grateful I am for you for writing this book. I CANNOT wait for my signed copy. Thank you SO much, from a man with far too much curiosity and interest in engineering

I had honestly forgotten that I had pre-ordered this a while ago. It showed up today and what a happy happy surprise. And, Grady, what an absolutely excellent intro; it hit me right in my civil eng. heart, despite me being a chemist, lol!

Hi Grady. I pre-ordered your book back in July, and it was well worth the wait. The size, page layout, highlighted terminology, "everyday man" words, great illustrations, and yes, the same Practical Engineering Cartoon man, were all very entertaining. I suggest the book to anyone who finds your channel interesting. Congratulations on the book! Your efforts are certainly appreciated.

I just received mine today, and I must say, this book is amazing! It really is the book for us normal folks to appreciate the constructed world around us! Thank you Grady for giving us this amazing view into the world!

Just got my book and I canā€™t tell you how much I love it. My little brother is in his 3rd year of engineering school where Iā€™m in 5th year of pharmacy school (3 years undergrad, 2nd graduate year, out of 4). I initially saw several of your videos mentioned in my YouTube feed after watching documentaries and decided to watch one of your videos because I was interested in gaining more understanding of my brotherā€™s future profession. I can say that I am a HUGE fan of your channel and am always excited to see new content. This, when you announced your book, I was like ā€œI have to get me oneā€. I preordered the day it was first announced and eagerly waited for the day I got it; understanding that factors out of our control could affect release date. I cannot state it enough how pleased I am with it and how much I enjoy your content. Thank you for putting so much time and effort into your content. I thoroughly enjoy learning about the world around me and the way you present the information in an understandable manner. I have to mention my favorite section is the one on Railroadsā€¦Iā€™m a massive Railfan and found all the information presented in an accurate and understandable way. This included mention of the advanced ā€œmoving blockā€ system which railroads use; North American railroads use a system called PTC or Positive Train Control that mixes blocks and braking distances into train spacing. I also greatly appreciated the warning(s) about racing trains and being reckless near the tracksā€¦especially since some of todayā€™s container trains span more than 16,000ā€™ of length. Thanks again for all your work and amazing content! Until next video, take care and God bless!

I pre-ordered the book on Amazon and just got the book yesterday. The book is so dang good looking with the amazing illustrations. Crystal clear illustrations and diagrams. The hardback makes it feel even more high quality, it's so nice and silky smooth. The color palate/shade is neutral and not overly bright which is like heaven for my eyes. The price is so worth it. I'm also working in a local government agency working on general planning for infrastructure needs and funding distributions so having a better and general understand on how things like grade crossings work is so dang important. So far for YouTubers, I have brought something from this YouTube channel and I think the other one was ChefPK for his crowdfunded recipes books. Technically I did also buy the books from Strong Towns, ie the confession of an engineer, etc. These are all amazing books.

Iā€™m excited for this book. Iā€™m an elementary teacher and kids ask me questions like these all the time. Iā€™m glad to be able to explain it to them, let them read and explore, and discover a career pathway they might not have discovered otherwise.

I was so excited to get my preorder in the mail. I skimmed the book and I absolutely love it. Exactly what I was looking for. I will enjoy slowly reading it and any children who come over will most definitely enjoy the gratuitous number of illustrations!!!!! (And so will I haha)

I have never been so interested in watching essentially - a commercial. GREAT job Grady. I'm sure your book is going to be a fascinating read. (I'm working on a signed one). You've come a very long way in a very short time (YouTube standards) and I look forward to every episode.

Hopefully I can get my hands on a copy! I've been fascinated by stuff like expansion joints in bridges to why sidewalks have grooves, why manholes are located where they are and so much more! Love your vids, and can't wait to read the book! Have a wonderful day!
