Meteor Showers is a project that me and Lost have been working on since last December, and all the way till march. It was, im sure, the largest project that both of us have ever tackled. And truth be told, I wasn’t truly convinced that we could finish it. But despite school and life we did and i couldn’t have been prouder.
It was truely an experience to create something like this and in the progress I discovered many things about me and my work process as well. How much can i get done in this amount of time? How much work is too much work? Maybe i need to switch up my work processes. Im sure I can speak for Lost on that count as well as well, who had the ‘pleasure’ of learning After Effects. I guess what im trying to say is this this project means a lot to us and im grateful to have been invited to collaborate with Lost and work on it.
This wasn’t meant to be this sappy emotional talk lmao, so you know, uhhh don’t worry about that haha

I love the sun and moon dynamic and that if they embrace (literally in this case) their differences they can relate their similarities. The sun is the one who has everything good expected of them (at the cost of themselves) and the moon is the one who has nothing good expected of them (and is usually only seen as a shadow of others), yet both can be underappreciated and taken for granted no matter how hard they try. Sweet animatic which definitely made me tear up, and this is the way I interpreted it.

I just saw the eclipse today so when the totality came into view, all I could think about how these two hugged each other the moment they met up again 🥺🥺

Holy smokes- okay okay so firstly I love how both suncat and moonwolf have their own struggles with the other animals they interact with! Moonwolf's being more lonely in that all the animals they would be friends with are asleep, save for the owl, who leaves them once they approach. Then there's suncat, who has animals flocking to them for their rays of light and warmth, but who ultimately leave them when they aren’t able to shine for them anymore- like the day animals believe that the suncat outshone their usefulness. Then the pair meet each other for the first time, and the shared expression of "you're like me!" brought me to tears. Finding their kindred spirits only to have them torn away by the distance was so heartbreaking to watch- and made their reunion during the eclipse that much more rewarding!! That moment during the eclipse where they were FINALLY able to hug was therapeutic. I was rooting for them so hard!!! Then when they separated again afterwards, it was still sad yes, but more bittersweet as they knew they would see each other again. I have to bring up their designs- I ADORED how they became more complex and shared traits of their counterpart after the eclipse. It was like watching them become fuller and richer people! Even during their time apart, they will now be forever changed by the experience of knowing the other. I can already tell this is a video I am going to come back to again and again. The individual styles of both artists shone through beautifully and harmoniously and I am SO THANKFUL this popped up on my recommended! You both are so skilled! STUNNING work all around!

I love that after they formed the solar eclipse , the moon’s eyes were yellow and the sun’s eyes were blue , leaving something to remember each other by . Btw I can’t remember how many times I’ve watched this , this is GORGEOUS ❤

the intention behind each scene, builds to the finale! opening with the sun and moon's loneliness, giving context to their situation and then they meet, and boom, instant connection. beautiful! then the pain of separation and waiting, just like long distance relationships, and sets up the audience expectation, how will they meet again?? then when they hug and we finally understand, the eclipse is when they get to meet!!! then how they are changed by interaction with each other, the design changes show how you carry parts of the people that mean the most you around with you.... absolutely gorgeous!
