As a Gen Xer, this movie makes me feel nostalgic for this time period. The early to mid 90s. The internet was in its infancy. Cell phones were there, but hadn't taken over everyone's life yet. We were really alive and experiencing one another.

This movie is most accurate portrayal of existential crisis and confused kids in the search of identity. It’s so strong and raw and in emotion.

Saw this on HBO years ago at like 2am. The movie has stuck with me. Just the whole vibe and the melancholy way it ends. The characters are so true to life too.

As a kid I related way too much to this movie, and Jeff in particular. Same attitude, same hangups. Same cluelessness. Hell he was even in Honors English in high school, a band, and ended up a slacker. I've probably seen this 15 times at least. The best part is how it ages, though. It hits so much different now. And i gotta say, I never realized how excellent the performances were. Every single one of the characters is played brilliantly, and their chemistry is so, so good.

It's interesting to watch this with 40 year old eyes vs. my 15 year old eyes of 1997.

Wow, Richard Linklater once again delivers one of the most fundamentally moving films I have ever seen. This movie, combined with Slacker and Waking Life are true works of Art that make someone like me, born in 98, realize that times may be changing faster than ever, but human emotion does not.

The slowed down guitars of the song "Sunday" are haunting. Captures the vibe perfectly.

Can’t tell you how thankful I am that you uploaded this. The only copy I have is an over 20 year old VHS and I no longer have a VCR . This is one of those rare films that accurately depicts the suburban ennui of the 90s. Very underrated in my opinion.

Hands down one of the most underrated independent films of the mid 90’s, it definitely a cult classic like Dazed And Confused or Dead Man On Campus.

With the exception of the store owner, these characters are all horrible, selfish people!

One of my favorites. It is a gift that keeps on giving as it continues to resonate with me differently as I get older.

This is way better than Clerks 2. Underrated gem that captured the 90s pop culture and sub culture!

Love this movie since it came out. I was 26 then and now I’m 51. I still enjoy watching this it brings back memories. It’s funny when one of the characters mentions in the movie that she’s thinking of moving to New York and she found a apartment for $600 a month. I’m thinking are you sure that’s a apartment or a closet. LOL!!!

Parker posey is gorgeous in every movie she is in. I always want to see her more when she's in an ensemble cast. My favorite movie she did back in the day was the house of yes.

I have rewatched this movie many times throughout different phases of my life. I never realized how much I do not like any of these people. Not one of them was a good friend or spouse/significant other. They were all very one dimensional and cliche. I think I related a little bit to each of them at times but ultimately I disliked them all. Tim: A drunk alcoholic sociopath who got off on other people's misery because he was so bitter and resentful about his hand in life. Suze: The proto-tumblr feminist who was woke before that was a thing. She had no problem cheating and ditching her boyfriend for the rich guy. Buff: Just an irritating one dimensional NPC type who wants to fit in and is a drain on society. He won the lottery by running inti Pony and his manager. Notice that he hooked up with BB in the van, then ignored immediately afterwards for Ericka and his shot at fame. Erica: Stereotype of an LA rich girl who lived life through appearances and being self absorbed. Jeff: Whiny and needed to grow up, ironically he was the most likeable and reasonable of the group. Pony: Douchebag, smarmy and phony. BB: Ignored and not appreciated. Her friends paid her no mind and were too absorbed in their own BS to see that she needed them.
