Mickie Knuckles is a female wrestler who has been wrestling for nearly 20 years. She mainly wrestled deathmatches and was well-known within IWA Mid South, probably one of their more synonymous names in the 2000s. Despite all the controversy of IWA Mid South that she found herself mixed up in, Mickie was still a talented wrestler and was on her way to her big break. Until it, all came crashing down in a split second of a moment that some would call a freak accident and others would call karma. Today we’re gonna discuss the career of Mickie Knuckles and talk about the moment her career came to an end.

There is absolutely zero chance that Ian Rotten has any idea what a kilometer is

Met her a few times while setting up the ring for a local promotion. She was always super nice and friendly each time I talked to her.

I'd love to see a retrospective on Daizee Haze. She was a great wrestler, cool gimmick, and essentially fell off the face of the planet. I think she'd be a good trainer for any wonen's division.

Knowingly gettinng with a married guy is one thing, knowingly getting with a married guy that happens to be Ian Rotten is another thing. Just why? No redeeming qualities whatsoever

Remember seeing Mickie at a show here in the UK back in 2006 and was a joint show between IWA and WXW. She had a match with Ian Rotten in which she was thrown in to a ton of barb wire and the scream still haunts me to this day. Also on that was a very young PAC and a pre WWE Cesaro.

I got to meet Mickie twice as a backstage worker and reffed one of her matches in 2020 I believe it was. She was amazing to be around. I think if she wasn't attached to Ian Rotten she would have been huge.

Mickie is doing really well today, and has been killing it on the deathmatch scene, making it to the finals of CZWs Tournament of Death this year which I had the honor of calling. Super nice person too who seems to have put her troubles behind her I could Definitley reach out to her if you’d like

I mean, if you're gonna break your leg might as well be in front of a huge crowd of at least 30 people!

As a promoter and someone who has been in wrestling for 20 years (VIP Wrestling in Dallas, currently), IWA Mid-South actually HAD a really great training center, to be fair.

Mickie is the nicest woman that you could ever meet and what she has done for female Deathmatch stars is unrivaled!

Here's an idea: after you say "I'll give you until the 3 count to do that," you should put in an audio clip of a referee counting to three or something

Mickie Knuckles is an OG in deathmatches. She bled buckets and broke bones so women like Kasey Kirk, Sawyer Wrecker and other American women to be able to preform deathmatches and be taken seriously

I remember when the leg incident happened, someone who was in the locker room said that the focus of the match was going to be del Ray working on Knuckles leg. It seems that Knuckles when taking about this spot said that because she would have a "bad leg" she should land the dive on his good one, everyone agreed that it was a dangerous idea, she did it anyways and there you have the result of that.

Was so hyped when I saw Mickie Knuckles show up in TNA. I was really hoping she would make it and unfortunately the injury happened and she never got back to that level. She's super nice though and it was cool to see her wreck shit at CZW Tournament of Death last year.

One of the odd moments in my life is I possibly met her BEFORE she got into wrestling. I say possibly because to this day I'm not certain it was her, BUT I think it was. Back in 2000, I was a senior in high school and there was some sort of job fair going on in our gymnasium and for whatever reason it was a big deal. There were busloads of kids coming from all over the state to do this thing. Me and my best friend were huge wrestling marks at the time, and we were involved in this fair trying to get people to go to different booths and see what was going on with each career opportunity. It got us out of class. Anyway, I looked at my friend and said "You dare me to cut a Shane Douglas promo to get people to our table?" and he replied with "Yeah, if you do it on top of the bleachers". We had one of those sets of bleachers that retracted inwardly, and even when it was in you could still stand on top of it. Which I did before going full Franchise (ha ha!) on the crowd. I distinctly remember another friend going "Ah shit, he's finally lost it". It got alot of attention and got people to our booth. So me and my friend are chilling after that and this girl walks up to us and I guess she recognized I was doing Shane Douglas and she starts talking to us about wrestling. She name-dropped Madman Pondo as someone she knew in our conversation and I had only heard of him at the time via the old Apter magazines. So we had a brief but nice conversation and that was that. Six years later, my friend and I head up to an IWA East Coast show in West Virginia and of course there were alot of people there like Pondo and Chris Hero and Tracy Smothers....and then there was a match between Mickie Knuckles and Hailey Hatred. As Mickie comes out a lightbulb goes off over our heads. I look to my friend and I say "Isn't that the girl who talked to us at school that day?" and he was like "Yeah, I think it is!". Girls talking about wrestling in high school was pretty rare back then TBH and moreso when it was niche wrestlers like Madman Pondo. So that was kinda neat. Then I saw her on Jerry Springer one day too. What can say say to that?

I was there for Mickie's Angel's of Death tournament appearance and finals match with Kennedi Copeland and Sawyer Wreck. Everything seemed to be going to a "standard" deathmatch plan when at one point Mickie couldn't stand anymore and had to be carried out at the end of the match. It was later revealed that she was taken to the ER against her wishes, where a large piece of glass had to be surgically removed from her thigh. At this point, I don't know if Mickie will ever wrestle again, but that would be a fitting way to close her wrestling career.

Deathmatch wrestling is an easy way for addicts to get prescriptions from doctors. ER doctors are always trying to guess whether someone is faking an illness or not to get drugs. Deathmatch wrestlers have legitimate injuries when they go in and always get what they want when they leave. That type of wrestling is really attractive to drug addicts. Easy access to pills and no wrestling talent is needed. That said, I don't think Mickie is a drug addict. Nick Gage, Ian Rotten, and that ilk - yes. Absolutely.
