The Odyssey is a 1997 American mythology–adventure television miniseries based on the ancient Greek epic poem by Homer, the Odyssey. Directed by Andrei Konchalovsky, the miniseries aired in two parts beginning on May 18, 1997, on NBC. It was filmed in Malta, Turkey, parts of England, and many other places around the Mediterranean, where the story takes place. The cast includes Armand Assante, Greta Scacchi, Irene Papas, Isabella Rossellini, Bernadette Peters, Eric Roberts, Geraldine Chaplin, Christopher Lee, and Vanessa Williams.
At the 49th Primetime Emmy Awards the series won the award for Outstanding Directing for a Miniseries or Special.

I must say The Odysseus poem has hilarious adventures despite being dark and melancholy. Them Spending time on each islands have Deadly and funny experiences.

Saw this on TV back in 97, I recorded it using our 4 head Samsung VCR. That tape got smashed over the years then lost it and others during a move.
Now, I recently purchased the DVD and will embark on this journey again. For some reason I don't think it will be the last time 😉

This is one of my favorite movies of all time. My sons loved it growing up as well. What a treat, I actually have the DVD but loaned it to a neighbor and haven't gotten it back yet 😂. They want to watch it but haven't had a chance yet.
