OMG !!! Yul Brenner has such presence - he is positively regal!! Steve McQueen absolutely superb, and I cried and cried at the very end when the boys put flowers on Charles Bronson's grave. Absolutely The Magnificent Seven !!

What I love in these classic Westerns is the elegant, gentlemanly dialogue, even if it's a bit out of place with these rough frontiersmen. No curse words, no disrespect whatsoever, even from the outlaw chief.

After I saw this movie as a little boy, I think that every time my friends and I played cowboys and crooks, the theme music to this great movie formed part of our daily sagas. How I wish my sons could have experienced the joy and fun we had playing in the sun and rain, in the fields and sand dunes that eventually gave way to housing projects and shops. Perhaps not the alltime best Western, but pretty darn good! My favorite part is when Charles Bronson gives a lecture to the little Mexican youngster who said his father was a coward.. a fine piece of acting..with a message that is timeless..
