I have heard some of Eloy's drumming and knew he was incredible but this blew my freaking mind! Wtf? He is so dynamic it's unreal. He doesn't just play speed drumming, the feel, emotion, and smooth transitions make him create a style that is truly his. All his knowledge and experience adds up to this video. Wow. There are so many great drummers in the world but Eloy has stood out and the Brazilian rhythms in the music is a personal favorite style of mine. This absolutely worth watching multiple times, especially for drummers. Thank you Drumeo for the video.

I met Eloy 8 or so years ago when I was living in Texas and saw Sepultura live at a small venue. They were so loud the almost took down the place and the fans nearly ripped off the metal bar separating band from stage. I had the privilege to hang out with them after the concert and the whole band were some of the coolest dudes I've met - when I shook Eloy's hand and told him what an amazing drummer he was, he responded with the most humble thanks, as if he were equally saying it to someone he really looked up to or just a fan like me.
So not only is he arguably one of the best drummers alive, but also an humble, driven, and inspirational human being.
