I met Eloy 8 or so years ago when I was living in Texas and saw Sepultura live at a small venue. They were so loud the almost took down the place and the fans nearly ripped off the metal bar separating band from stage. I had the privilege to hang out with them after the concert and the whole band were some of the coolest dudes I've met - when I shook Eloy's hand and told him what an amazing drummer he was, he responded with the most humble thanks, as if he were equally saying it to someone he really looked up to or just a fan like me.
So not only is he arguably one of the best drummers alive, but also an humble, driven, and inspirational human being.

I was reluctant when slipknot kicked out Jay, but this guy is just the best drummer slipknot could ever have, the power the creativity is next level. He changed my mind very quick. I’m as a Venezuelan is crazy that a Latino player made it to slipknot. Congratulations!
