I really like this version. Slow, like the live performance on The Cure Play Out video. There's also a subtle "baggy" element to this which is a product of the time - 1990 - it was recorded in the UK, where bands like the Happy Mondays and Stone Roses were in the charts and fashionable musically. Not obvious I admit but definitely there. This might also explain why by the final version released in 1992 was significantly different, as things had clearly moved on music wise.

My message to the Cure Band and to dear Robert Smith:
I want to apologise to you because:
I never really realised in my teenage years what brilliants you are.
I never really listened to you, never took you seriously, because I thought Robert and Co. were freaks.
But you know what happened?
Four days ago I happened to see a short concert video " It can never be the same" a few sounds and tones that touched my heart directly.
Then I thought I'd check it out on YT.
Ohhh my god..I missed the best band, the most beautiful, emotional and deepest music ever, in my most beautiful period of life, which hurts me a lot. Because that's exactly when I needed you guys.
But I'm so happy...I've found you now at the age of 47.
I've been listening to The Cure late into the night for days.
The best is yet to come.
I have never organised tickets for a concert so quickly and at such short notice.
19.11.2022 Basel !!!!
I am so happy to see you live! Do you see what you have done to me? Addicted to the Cure and that's the most beautiful addiction ever
Thank you you brilliants

the best demos are the ones that sound so different, it's like finding a new cure song. This sounds more like the Disintegration style.
