The kid who owned mine took a hot knife and made some "battle damage" in the face and chest, there was some next to the treads too and I was pretty sure It was him but them I saw this and remembered someone saying that Demolishor had a similar issue

That KB Toys Bludgeon is a pretty sick repaint, and they even retconned him to be part of the New Primus Vanguard for the GS comics.

You know that Cybertron Unicron toy? The Deluxe one? I think it's a missed opportunity that they didn't recolor it as Bludgeon for the Universe line since a majority of the Universe line is made up of Cybertron recolors. Plus the design screams Bludgeon; the horns that Bludgeon has on his samurai helmet, the obvious skeleton face and that he becomes a tank. Even Josh Burcham did a piece of fan-art of the toy in Bludgeon colors.

Great review. I can only imagine that Bludgeon squeaked out during an era where they were thinking: "How in the world do we find a middle ground between the bayverse and g1 style?" and tried this. I never knew about his melting treads but I'm not surprised, some rubbers do that.

Never guessed it would be HFTDs Bludgeon. This toy was on the top of my list back in the day but never came across one. Only learned about Bludgeon from G2 run of the comics where he doesn't do much more than attempt to lead the Decepticons and get decimated by tank Megatron. G1 era was one of the Pretender toys where the Skeleton Samurai was the shell and the tank/robot was inside it. HFTDs basically took his shell form for the main robot, and the tank as his alternate form. I think it a uniquely fun, and interesting design without having to rely on the shell gimmick of a monster. That and the Tarn mold pulls it off effortlessly with the great head sculpt and additional sword. Say what you will but I love this iteration of Bludgeon. Never have once heard of treads melting as I've owned both ROTF Demolisher and Rampage since release, handled them plenty and have yet to see this even begin to happen. Guess for part 4 is Icecream twins because as a single release let alone individual release these guys are probably never getting another release.

It was mostly set up to be a nod to the original G1 Pretenders figures of an outer somewhat posable outer shell with weapons, and a smaller inner robot that transforms.
Plus in terms of ROTF Bludgeon he was meant to be based on the tank mode for the inner robot while the robot mode itself is based on the pretender shell being a robot skeletal samurai wearing armor.

There’s a really cool thing that I like , it’s that the dna designs based this figure , just greatly improved with a bigger and heavier figure due to diecast parts

It's such a shame that Legacy made him a Tarn retool. The Legacy Tarn mold is great, but imagine if they remade this figure but with updated engineering and detail

I can forgive this Bludgeon for having such noodly little arms, after all, he's supposed to be a skeleton warrior (DUDUDU-DUHH-DUHH-DUHH-DUHH-DAA~). On that Overlord, however, they look cursed AF.
