This was used to teach my children the art of music. Saturday mornings blasting this out. My son has choices of what to listen to. Picked every time, I would put my vinyl on and let it do it's magic. My son is a very talented musician. My job is done.

Interesting facts about this recording; - Cobain’s acoustic/electric guitar, a 1959 Martin D-18E, is the most expensive guitar ever sold at auction for 6 million dollars. 2nd most is his Fender Mustang. - Pat Smear, who joined Nirvana as a rhythm guitarist in 93, is playing guitar as well. He was in great bands like the Germs & 45 Grave and is currently playing for the Foo Fighters. - The first release after Cobain’s death in November 94, initially to combat the multiplying bootleg copies. It broke numerous records & has since went MULTIPLATINUM. - Producers argued that Cobain’s guitar shouldn’t have effect pedals, which he wanted to use. This lead to Cobain hiding his pedals until he was live on air, when obviously he couldn’t be interfered. You can hear it beautifully on The Man Who Sold the World. - Encore request we’re rampant from everyone outside the band, however they themselves behind curtains claimed that there was no way they could top the last song performed.

I think Kurt knew this was it for Nirvana, so he put his best energy into this performance. To honest, I believe this was nirvana at their best.

I remember going to my friends house to watch this the night it aired. We had live bootlegged VHS tapes of nirvana but this was mind blowing.

This album changed my life. I was 11. Had never heard anything like it. So powerful. To this day it's still my safe space and my safe zone. When I need to reset from life or whatever; I just play this and everything else fades and goes away and makes for a fresher more exciting start to everything. I've also used it throughout my life to decorate special capsules of time like dinners, dates and special encounters with women, party music, meditation sessions and most importantly: solitary and safe moon nights. Most recently, when my grandfather died a year ago, I was with him the moment he passed. He had confided in me a year previous to that during a Christmas gathering, that he knew he was going to die soon. And sure enough, it happened right before my eyes, 11 or so months later. The doctors told us that there was nothing left for us to do but wait for it to happen. Had never actually seen a person die before. But it was only at that moment when I realized that. After it was all over and done, I came back to this album. I layed awake at night in the dark with my headphones on. Replaying "On a Plain" and "Dumb" over and over. It sure gave me some peace. There was some sadness that I felt, but more than anything: it was a sense of finality and relief. It still gets me going after all these years. I've done a lot of stuff to this album. But I just have never lost touch with it. There was a time (many years ago) when I stopped listening to Nirvana. But I just could never completely sever ties with this record. I ultimately just came back with my tail between my legs and just embraced Nirvana as hard as I could from that moment on. To the point where they've almost given me part of my identity. I'm sure I'll be listening to "Unplugged" when I'm 90 on vinyl and still dig the hell out of it.
