When I was 5 (in 1975), I remember getting (by pure chance, from either a thrift shop or a flea market) a 45 of "Fly Me to the Moon" with "Where Have All the Flowers Gone" as the B-side. At the time I had no idea who Wes Montgomery was, of course, but I played the record often and never forgot it. It's so cool to hear it again.

I believe it was 1993, reading jazz times and other guitar magazine articles I could find on Pat Metheny after 4 years of absorbing the PMG albums 1986 to 1992 and learned Pat had heard Smoking St the half note from a jazz guitarist named Wes Montgomery that forever changed him, I went out and acquired every recording from Wes and I am still a big fan of Wes today in 2023! Thanks for putting me in a good mood this rainy early fall evening. (23Sept, 2023).

As a young Wes fan this was the first of his tracks that I could follow enough to attempt to learn. Not having heard this particular track since '69 I realize I missed the great shout choruses just before the out head. πŸ€“More training ! Thanks for posting!!
