I think what she means by, "If I saw you on the street would I see you in my dreams tonight" is that she is telling us that we should try not to be just another face in the crowd and to express ourselves and get away from what is expected so much that if somebody were to simply see you on the street, they would remember you. You would stand out to them, rather than having them forget about you twenty seconds later.

It was December of 2019, me and my brother were homeless but i was at a friend's house, happy and in love with a girl, i remember we had a date and on that day i woke up late, so i hurry got dressed and ran to the store to buy her a cheap 5$ box of chocolates. That was all the money i had in my name but i knew she would love these. After i bought them i called my mom and had her pick me up but she was also in a hurry to take my brother to school and to go somewhere, and my girlfriend was already on her way to the mall to meet me, so she drove me halfway to the mall and i ran the rest of the way. My hair was messy and unkempt, cursing at myself for forgetting my beanie at my friend's house. I ran until i reached the mall, i messaged her i was there and she said that she was halfway there. So i walked around, tidied myself up a bit and waited for her, i was looking at some video games when she walked up to me, we hugged and kissed and i gave her her chocolates, seeing her smile brought joy to my heart. We had our date, she bought me a hoodie and we went and did things in her car, all while this song was playing on repeat in my phone. A few days after that date we had a harsh breakup, so sudden, so fast and brutal; ending in tears and me on my knees, a position I've never been in over a girl. Everytime i hear this song i got a little lump in my throat, a tightening in my chest, but as i move on, it gets looser and the lump easier to swallow. I'm completely over her by now, but this song and that whole day was like something out of a movie, it was beautiful and even though its all gone, i cherish it in my memory, that whole day was like a dream. Now it's 2020, the world seems like a whole different place now, but i know love will blossom for me again, I'm just waiting to see my next love on the street so i can see her in my dreams.
