I listen to this music at 52 years old and immediately I think of the old days. To me my mother and fathers time was the old days. Now here i am. I think of the music and how we were outside all day and night. I think how we had no worries except being caught cutting classes. I remember walking the railroad with my good friends growing up in Philly. I think of stickball, freedom, hanging on the corner, grafitti (lol). I think of graduating high school not truly thinking about my future. But what I did know was times where great. Now, I want to cry for the first time as a man. I think of what we ignored. I think of how I focused on building my life, a family, career and future. But I didn't pay attention to what these politicians and corporations where doing. And they have gone and screwed it all up. Kids don't go outside. Music is not that good. Walking many neighborhoods is not safe. Drugs have killed far too many. And we have lost so many rights and freedoms. My 8 year old son will never know what it was like for me to grow up. He won't understand why I had all these freedoms and no worries. What they attempt to put on our children is disgusting. But I damn well will fight them. That's the time I come from. I'm not really religious but I pray there's a God and I pray he gives us all the strength to band together, rise up and face this head on. Before it's too late. Damn they ruined a good thing!
