The difference this time is the decline in the petro-dollar and the associated buying of US debt buy foreign holders of dollars they needed to trade oil and other commodities and the oil countries like Saudi parking their dollar earnings in the US. Now with Saudi trading oil in other currencies, especially the Yuan and joining BRICS and the SCO they have better places to invest their oil income and the same goes for other BRICS membership which is growing at a fast rate with another 40 countries in the queue and many more in discussions which together represent the major part of World trade. Add to this the BRICS strangle hold on many commodities, especially the rare earth metals needed for EVs and renewables and the coming recession will be more like the 1920s as the M2 money supply is indicating. What money people have will go to essential goods and services and this does not include EVs nor company expenditure on AI and robotics except by the limited number of companies that supply those needs. Add the fact that sanctions against Russia and the Biden talk of war with China has lead to both countries developing their own civilian aircraft and US/EU suppliers of such aircraft and engines will take a significant hit plus Russia and China no longer depend on the uS for grains.

Every crash/collapse brings with it an equivalent market chance if you are early informed and equipped, I've seen folks amass up to $1m amid crisis, and even pull it off easily in a favourable economy. Unequivocally, the bubble/collapse is getting somebody somewhere rich.
