What was the disturbing part? I thought everyone knew what a siren was, and that the logo is obviously a portrayal of one. Many people may not have considered that they chose that symbol to draw a parallel between the way people are attracted to sirens and coffee addiction. But it's not like they were trying to imply that drinking coffee will lead you to your death or something.

Makes sense to me. Any time I've had Starbucks, I never really tasted much of the flavor I'd supposedly gotten, it just tasted burnt. Yet it seems to be popular simply because it's a big name (and nowadays they're vocal about their political leanings, which can be a loss or win depending on ther consumer's own politics). Overrated and overpriced, IMHO, which totally fits with a logo of a creature that's literally impossible to resist and drives people out of their minds and to their deaths.
There's a video on Thoughty2's channel that talks about the literal relationship between marketing and Freud, so this siren thing doesn't surprise me at all.
