Ever since I heard Bohemian Rhapsody as a kid, I’ve loved music that abandons typical verse/chorus structures in favor of movements - like the modern equivalent of a symphony. I feel like Windswept does that; it ebbs and flows like a dream through it’s various acts, chronicling the slow dissolution of something which once was strong. It’s a really vulnerable song for me, and I second guessed my choice to put it out multiple times… but what is an artist without honesty? Feeling vulnerable is part of the craft I have chosen, and I wouldn’t have it any other way.

Lyrics:

On that night under the staircase
Our arms drifting down
Your kiss made me a believer
Cleansed my sins somehow

I'll be what you need
I'll keep you inside my fortress
Hand you the keys, leave you to roam these halls

But you tore down the keep
I returned to find ruins
You left all my love in the rubble with these walls

-

But in my head
I am still there
I can still feel you
Breathing slow
I've known this dream for a long time

In the air
Suspended here
With thousands of words we've spoken
Can I soar
Up through the clouds?
Leave all of this behind

-

But in my head
I am still there
I can still feel you
Breathing slow
I've known this dream for a long time

All alone
I feel your breath
I hear your whispers
Dark like storms
Telling me "dear, I'll never leave your mind"

-

And you've been there all along
Tugging me, pulling me down
Touching him, holding him close
You've made your home

And I see your face through his eyes
With every move of your hips
You're breaking my bones
While holding me hostage

-

Could I still love you
Though my arms are breaking?
Could we still be alone?

Do I still know you?
Are you still my answer
To the question I've asked since I was born?

You often hear the phrase "Music is food for the soul" in some form, but Crywolf is the only artist consistently delivering music thats true enough to actually reach the soul. <3

I first listened to this song when I was 17 back when it was first released. It expressed all the feelings of loneliness and isolation I could not. Now when I come back to it it still touches my life, but in a different way. Like a book you reread when you are older.

You're feeling of vulnerability is what sets you apart, my friend. You chose to go out on a wire, and publish something that would not only speak from your heart but captivate many others. The comments below my own can obviously show how much you, as a unique artist, have: changed, captured, and spoke to a lot of us. Keep doing you, man. We are absolutely amazed by it. -Phoenix

'Are you still my answer, to the question I've asked since I was born.' This quote hits me right in the feels. Incredible song, I've been playing it on repeat for a long time. Crywolf, if you ever read this, I would like to thank you for your art. I think I speak for a lot of people when I say that your music is amazing, therapeutic and so, so unique. Love!

Song was already amazing, then I read the description and it meant a whole lot more. Your music just keeps getting better! Quantum Immortality was outstanding & I've basically listened to it nonstop since it came out, but this is definitely my new favorite. It takes everything you've already done (& everything that made me love your music in the first place) and adds a new kind of twist that I don't really see with other modern artists... The beginning TOTALLY reminds me of Bohemian Rhapsody so I can see the inspiration there, & the way it builds up all the way through to the very end is... honestly beautiful. I teared up. Basically this song is amazing & I LOVE IT OH MY GOD THATS ALL I CAN SAY IM GUSHING SORRY

Years later and still my most favorite song. Whenever I get a new headset, I make sure this is the first thing that plays through it. Love your work, M8.

His style is evolving, anyone notice that? Last time his style changed it was the best album of the century so I'm ridiculously excited right now XD

I really hope you know that you've touvhed so many souls and have helped them in their journey through an immense amount of heartbreak and I feel that that is just something so incredibly beautiful, priceless and irreplacable. Your music has moved me more than I was able to support myself and it in and of itself is such a wondrous thing to experience in thsi lifetime. I am so grateful for your ethereal, otherwordly soundscape and music. It is magic❤️
