11:29 I believe thatā€™s one of the most important messages of the movie that many people are missing. Those who are searching for an ending are acting like Rose , the little girl who was desperate to find out the ending of ā€œFriendsā€ even though her world was falling apart. Maybe the movie writers want us to not care so much about fiction and face our own reality instead. Like the boy said, why does it matter how a fictional movie ends? Your world is already falling apart, so worry about that instead.

The White Lion was also the name of the ship that brought the first Africans to America in 1619. They also landed at Point Comfort, which is where the movie took place. Also when theyā€™re in the car, the frequency at which they received the emergency broadcast was 1619.

The best horrors are always the ones that play on real fears. No jumpscares, no make believe monsters, but a threat or a situation that could happen in reality. Thatā€™s the shit that keeps you awake at night. Edit: What the hell I wrote this comment as a compliment to the film and now thereā€™s religious nutters and snobs in the replies. If you believe in Jesus, fine, but donā€™t expect anyone else to.

One thing I took from the ending is that we, as a society, rely so much on cloud-based storage that we put everything in it: movies, art, music, pictures, literature, medical documents, etc. I feel that once the internet goes down, like in this movie with the last episode of Friends, we lose it and have no power to access it anymore. Physical copies of these art forms, articles of information, and knowledge need to be kept in some sort of physical form.

I just hated the ending. I get that not every ending has to be completely satisfying, but it did such a solid job at building up these characters all for it to end with basically nothing, no closure for any of the characters we got to know. Do they live? Do they die, itā€™s not clear and Iā€™d like to at least kinda have an idea.

Rose tells her mother the parable of the drowning man who refused 2 boats and a helicopter. Rose was the only person who saw the oil tanker, heading straight for her. She saw the deer who everybody dismissed. She saw the Thorne household and decided she was not going to wait to be saved. God helps those who help themselves. Rose was the only survivor.

The girl tried to give all of the signs to leave and no one listened to her, this was the same story she told her mother about God sending help and the man did not catch on, she was even led to the house that could save them but decided to hide still, the friends episode was called that because she at the end accepted her fate and decided to end it in her ā€œhappy placeā€. We have to listen to our kids theyā€™re the future!

Love the supreme irony that loads of people are frustrated because there was no ending to the story. The writers have literally turned you into the Rose character. So clever šŸ˜‚

In my opinion, Clay intervening during the standoff was the ultimate point of the movie. The "useless" man manages to get them to step back from the brink of exactly what the attackers want people to do. He may be useless, but he was able to keep good people from going feral.

People who are saying there needs to be a part 2 have completely missed the point of the movieā€¦ the ending is happening as we speak, and all we care about (like Rosie) is fantasy and how movies and shows end.

We were supposed to think that itā€™s odd that Rose only cares what happens to the people on a show, despite all of the chaos going on around her. But, then this movie makes a lot of us care about what happens to the people at the end of the movieā€¦ā€I was so closeā€ā€¦and leaves us with no conclusion or explanation. It puts the majority of the viewers in Roseā€™s shoes, while chaos is happening in our own world. So, now, we relate.

The scary thing isā€¦something like this is bound to happen. What Juliaā€™s character said about us living in a mass delusion is 100% true.

Julia Roberts's character is relatable af! Due to life experiences, I've chosen to isolate myself from the majority. I'm quite closed off and defensive, and have a very very small circle of people that I trust. In fact, I tell myself daily how much I hate people. But, at the same time, I yearn for social interaction... but only on my terms. I'm coming to the realization that I don't hate people, I'm just afraid of the pain/disappointment that may come with interacting/developing relationships with others. My own insecurities are tainting my willingness to open up and are my biggest roadblock.

I watched this movie today, and I can say it is so well made. A lot of symbols, references, and issues are mentioned. Along with future events that are coming to American land. I enjoyed watching it, especially from a cinematic point of view. Colors, art, locations, and characters. Doesnā€™t matter if it was done by ā€œevil guysā€ who plan global problems or by those who want others to wake up. It is a really good movie to watch and reflect.
