It doesn't help that Blizzard basically dumped their original playerbase in an attempt to capture the "hardcore shooter fans" demographic... and the OG players they pushed out of the game ("you are no longer Overwatch's intended audience, get used to it or leave") understandably feel betrayed.

Part you forget to mention was the falling out between Activision and Netease the Chinese company they had a deal with to bring Activision/Blizzard games to the Chinese market. That deal falling out led to every game that they were selling being Thanos snapped out of existence in China. Except for Diablo Immortal because the deal for that was with a different Chinese company. The result was all the Activision/Blizzard players in China didn't just lose access to play WoW, and Overwatch among many others their data was terminated. Imagine playing WoW for over a decade just to suddenly lose everything you played and built because of Bobby Kotik fumbling the ball.
As you might guess Chinese players are furious over this. When OW2 came to Steam it gave the Chinese players a chance to make their displeasure known, and make it known they did. If you browse all the reviews and turn off the language filter you will find a shockingly high number of negative reviews in Chinese.

7:06 I had more fun spending 2 years as a f2p on tf2, without being able to say medic or anything.

As a TF2 player, I feel like for some reason I've always harbored some sort of subconscious angry resentment towards Overwatch, and I only realized this when I noticed how elated I was when I noticed how far Blizzard has been falling as of late...
I think that's kinda messed up to be resentful of a game that I don't even play.

2:37 Next stop, Overwatch 3, "We will now require your Social Security Number, Home Address, Phone Number, and Debit Card linked to a major brokerage firm like Morgan Stanley. This is all done to ensure top level security to prevent hackers... and ensure our bottom line."

Overwatch 2 also killed events. The events of OW1 were always a great time. Completing challenges to get a single skin, some random trash like a charm and the rest of the event skins being $20 a piece...completely took the joy out of seeing a trailer for a new halloween event for example. Seeing what new skins in the trailer you’d be able to grind for during the event was so exciting and actually felt like an event. I doubt we will ever see Overwatch have features like that again, but I really hope I’m wrong. 😔

Removing 6v6 was one of the worst decisions they could’ve made. Just from a psychological POV, they cut 1/6th of every game for people that played Overwatch 1 without adding anything to make up for it. If you know about Paladins (also a 5v5 game) they launched with that game as 5v5. Whereas since OW2 is just OW1 reskinned, Blizz cut 1/6th of the gameplay loop of a game that was built for 6v6 without any real thought besides “tank meta bad”…

this whole thing is so bizzare to me. overwatch was the new cool shiny thing that 5 years ago was supposed to be the "TF2 killer" because it was very interesting, but now it really just feels like Tf2 players just feel sorry for overwatch players
i know games can die quick but the turnaround in even a few years from being beloved (if a bit complicated for new players) to the trashfire that is actively being abandoned is just shocking.
its just bizzare to me to see it. it really makes me humble myself as a tf2 player. valve may not update us much but they also don't change things that are working to make them worse, and don't promise things they can't deliver on. I'd rather be ignored than completely obliterated like whatever happened to overwatch 2

I personally never got into overwatch, yet alone overwatch 2, but this is just ridiculous, I thought tf2 never getting an update for YEARS was bad, I guess false promises from a constantly updating game is worse.
