My dad drank a 30 pack a day and died of colon cancer at 61. He was a HORRIBLE parent but I did learn alot from him by doing the opposite. I'm ALWAYS there for my 2 kids, I don't drink, and I'm as supportive as I can be for them. My kids and wife are my life and I'd never put anything ahead of them

Alcohol and cigarettes addiction actually destroyed my life. I could remember several years ago after divorce with my wife which brought me into my disastrous journey on Alcohol and cigarettes. I suffered severe depression and mental disorder. Got diagnosed with cptsd. Not until a friend recommended me to psilocybin mushrooms treatment. Psilocybin treatment saved my life honestly. 8 years totally clean. Much respect to mother nature the great magic shrooms.

This is why I am glad my wife is straight edge. It really grounded me. If I had met someone who enjoyed drinking as much as I did, it could have gotten bad.

It is by Gods grace I am here. I drank myself in to a coma that lasted 17 days. When I walked out of that hospital it was over. Thank you Jesus for saving my life and giving me a second chance. I pray others find the peace and freedom I have found in you.

I drank over 30 a day myself for about two and half years. Some of the beers I drank were ipa about 10-12% and the bulk of it was coors banquet around 4.5%. I nearly wiped out my liver and kidneys. I got sober because my wife gave me a choice, her and my daughter or alcohol. I went to a detox clinic for 4 days and have since stopped drinking. It’s almost been 2 months and I have no desire to pick it up again. Stopped smoking weed too. Just focusing on being a good husband and father

My neighbor was like this. Hes 80 years old this year. Still drinks his budwieser. Outlived his never touched a drink or smoked a cig wife. He's slipping now. But he's 80. One of a kind

stopping drinking in 2012 is one of the best decisions i ever made in my entire life. my mother suffered from addiction and i didn't think it would hit me so hard like it did.

Unironically, my uncle Jeff also passed away from alcoholism..those photos of him young reminded me so much of his photos 😢

That’s literally 2.5 gallons of beer a day. Imagine drinking 2.5 gallons of water a day….I would feel terrible.
