What upsets me the most about this whole situation is that there must have been something in her that thought she could do better than a real Aboriginal person. So she went for it. There's a lot of hidden narcissism in her. Her mockery is demonic in nature. To fool and take advantage of the First Nations for 50 years is cruel. As if the Native American Nations haven't suffered enough injustice and lies for the past 500 years. No one is disputing her talent as a songwriter. But did she have to pretend to be an Indigenous person? She could have always been herself and still help the Native Nations without having to pretend to be one of them. There's something so dark about that. She shone a false light for decades. Similar to the story of Lucifer. I know she helped many Native people but at what cost? Being "nice" is not the same as being a good person. Not only does my heart break for the Native Nations that believe in her, but also for her Italian/English American real family. 💔

Sorry. But she lied, and the evidence is overwhelming. She knew the truth, and chose to benefit instead from a career based on pretending she was something that she was not. I'm afraid that regardless of the good she may have done and the awareness she brought to the indigenous cause, her name will now be associated with controversy and falsehoods.

at 9:45 in the interview you can see from her body language, the moment the lies begin. She touches her nose, looks to the side, shakes her head, blinks rapidly and begins to talk very quickly while talking about "not knowing" her identity.. she does the exact same mannerisms in the video where she claims to have been on the "wrong side of the blanket", it's what I've noticed she does in these sort of interviews when she speaks of things that did not occur.

Denial is one of the stages of grief. Sometimes when someone decieves us our immediate reaction is to not believe that person was capable of doing it to us. The doc was pretty maticulous and thorough and she knew this was coming for months yet only addressed it the days before the doc aired. She's had a hell of a career and did a lot of good but it appears she also had us all fooled.

What really shows me Bluffy's true colours is her horrific treatment of her brother, threatening him with lawsuits and a smear campaign for telling the truth about her identity--and right befiore she appeared on Sesame Street! 😢. As an actual Sixties Scoop survivor who watched her on that show as a child and saw her as a role model, I feel angry and betrayed by Bluffy's charade. In hindsight I can see now her supreme confidence and creative output is totally inconsistent with the lifelong trauma, CPTSD and identity crisis that accompanies being stolen from one's Indigenous family. Seeing her now just makes me cringe.

Until I saw The Fifth Estate report I was hoping there was something to explain this. There is not and sadly she is a liar and a fraud and she has hurt several indigenous nations. She needs to apologize and make amends to those peoples.
